Rae’s Driving School is operated by Mike Monaghan (owner and instructor) who has been a Connecticut DMV Licensed Instructor for 20 years, and Mark Maturo. They have successfully helped thousands of people obtain their Connecticut Driver’s License and be the safest drivers they can be

Mark has a degree from Southern Connecticut State University in driver education and has been teaching driver education full-time for over 25 years. Mike currently holds a Master Commercial Instructor’s License and has been a Master Instructor for over 10 years.

In addition, Mike also has a passion for the ocean and fishing. Mike is a licensed Merchant Mariner with the US Coast Guard and holds an OUVP Captains License, and Mike is CPR and First Aid certified. Whether on land or on the water Mike is one of the most qualified and experienced instructors in Connecticut.

We are a driving school located in southern Connecticut with a very personal touch. Our students are not taught by a random selection of staff, but rather, by the same instructor from start to finish.

We are proud to announce Rae’s Driving School is now a part of The Next Street family! The Next Street is a family owned and operated driving school with over 60 CT locations, including locations in Waterford and Madison. They will take good care of you. Experiencia negativa: Bad communication. Cancels lessons without emailing or communicating. Doesn't reply to texts. Driving lessons are not helpful for the DMV test. There are way better driving schools in the area.

Experiencia fantástica: Good scheduling. Good communication. Easy testing process. Informative classes. And the cost is much better than some of the competitors..much easier and quicker on road schedule process, too! Highly recommend.

Experiencia fantástica: My daughter recently attended this school to get her driver's license. This school's friendly atmosphere took away the nervousness and made this stage in her life a pleasure. I highly recommend this school. A+ A special thanks to Mark. See you again when my youngest daughter turns sixteen.

Experiencia fantástica: Have had 2 kids go through the classes and behind-the-wheel. They get the job done, and its fairly affordable. No complaints. The best part is for the driving test they have the DMV instructor come out to Rae's and test them there, so no having to go to Old Saybrook for that. You will have to go to OS for the permit, however.
