Established in 1925, Trinidad State College was the first community college in Colorado. The Trinidad Campus offers a true college experience in a beautiful setting high above historic Trinidad on the eastern edge of the Rocky Mountains. The 17-acre campus is adjacent to mountains on the north, south and west, plus canyons and rolling prairie to the east.
The Valley Campus of Trinidad State is located in downtown Alamosa, the hub of the 8,000-square-mile San Luis Valley. It is a commuter campus featuring friendly staff and small class sizes, surrounded by picturesque 14,000' mountains, the headwaters of the Rio Grande River, and some of the world's most productive high altitude agriculture.
Trinidad State College, named a Semi-Finalist and Top 20 Community College in the nation in 2025, again makes the first cut for the 2027 Aspen Prize for Community College Excellence.
HSI is defined in federal law (the Higher Education Opportunity Act, Title V, 2008) as an accredited, degree-granting, public or private nonprofit institution of higher education with 25% or more total undergraduate Hispanic full-time equivalent (FTE) student enrollment.

1 year ago Experiencia negativa: It’s a great school but if you need any sort of help Math wise I highly advise against Andrew Mills. He’s absolutely rude and has no business being a “teacher” if that’s what you want to call him. He doesn’t even teach.

2 years ago Experiencia negativa: They are nearly impossible to get ahold of. You have to leave multiple messages and emails to get anyone to call you back. Worst customer service I have seen.

5 years ago Experiencia negativa: I went to school here in spring of 2020. I was fresh out of highschool and when I say this school made me never want to go to college again I couldn't be any more serious. They offered no help, and screwed me financially. Their staff is completely helpless they can't even help you with basic things or even basic questions. You're better off spending more money and attending Adams, or traveling to the city for other school options. Trinidad state jr college valley campus is a joke and needs some serious training for its staff.
