Experiencia fantástica: I live in Buffalo, NY and had a virtual lesson with Three Pedals via chat while practicing in an empty parking lot. The instructor Cody made it easy to grasp the steps to get moving forward, shifting up, downshifting, and reversing. We also spent time walking through the mechanics of how a manual transmission works and what to do in a variety of real-world scenarios. This was exactly what I needed to feel confident practicing more on my own!

Experiencia fantástica: Cody is an amazing teacher! I had absolutely no experience driving a manual prior to my lesson, but I was cruising around within the first 5 minutes with ease. Cody was patient, knowledgeable and not only taught me how to drive a manual, but also explained how the manual transmission worked. Learning how the transmission worked helped me better understand what I was doing and how it connected to what was happening mechanically under the hood. He had the ability to make you feel comfortable and confident even when making mistakes. He was clear and patient and allowed me to take my time. After my two hour lesson and a little bit more practice I actually drove myself around in a stick shift car the next day!

Experiencia fantástica: I had a great experience with my driving lesson. The whole process was smooth, from scheduling the appointment to meeting Neil in Portsmouth to payment. During the lesson, Neil was really clear and concise with instructions. He broke down the whole process into simple, manageable steps. It didn't feel overwhelming at all! I was driving on (not crowded) streets and made it into 5th gear before the end of the 2 hour lesson. Now I'm getting in lots of practice with my husband's manual car. Definitely recommend.

Cody is incredibly knowledgeable, patient, and passionate about driving and teaching. I surprisingly learned a couple things from him I hadn’t initially learned and was able to practice some additional skills. I was taking lessons in order to prep for driving a manual while on vacation and he went above and beyond to help me feel comfortable and ready for that experience. He choose a car similar to the one I'd be driving, gave me an extra lessons to practice highway driving free of charge, and reached out to make sure things were going OK once I went on my trip. Experiencia fantástica: A lifelong automatic driver with NO experience of driving stick here. Every person has their own method of processing information and learning new skills. Some people like step-by-step instructions and some, like me, learn by asking a lot of questions. Cody's patience in explanation and wealth of knowledge in the mechanics of manual vehicles helped me take the first step in driving manual. I am now enlisting Cody's additional help in sourcing a manual vehicle to continue learning my new skill set. **Updated one year after on 11.06.22** I had a follow up with Cody on a new manual vehicle to help figure out some quirks I had shifting. Cody was quick to diagnose, talk me through it and help reinforce the 'slow is smooth, smooth is fast' process. Now I'm rinsing and repeating....

Experiencia fantástica: Hands down the BEST! Cody is an amazing teacher that knows how to explain everything easily and clearly. He’s very calm, very knowledgeable, very patient, and very kind. In addition, he was very responsive when I initially reached out to him unlike a lot of driving schools now. I used to drive manual transmission before but I learned a lot from him. He doesn’t only teach how to drive a manual transmission car, but also he teaches you how to be aware of your surroundings and the traffic rules. I was very anxious to drive but he made it all easy and gave me so much confidence. I needed private lessons as I never drove in the US and it has been almost 6 years since I drove regularly, and I had no idea about traffic rules here and I wanted to get my US license and in just two weeks I got it! And I can’t thank him enough!!! US ROADS, WAIT FOR ME!

Cody is a patient and insightful instructor. He breaks everything down into understandable steps and the course follows a good progression. I enjoyed the lesson enough that I plan to get a manual car in the near future.

Experiencia fantástica: Cody is an exceptional teacher, he keeps you calm, instills confidence and is incredibly patient. My biggest challenge was adjusting how quickly/slowly to let off the clutch. His ability to educate me on how to butter the clutch and the gas was a game changer. I can’t wait to get out on the roads some more!
