Experiencia fantástica: I took the course and am glad I did. Although there are many schools and options to choose from, I'm glad I went with MRE. I had the opportunity to learn from 4 different instructors (Dave, Duo, Bob, and Elliot) and they all had their own teaching style, but all were very effective and building my confidence and correcting bad habits early. I learned more in one weekend, than I had casually riding bikes with my friends. Our class had a wide range of ages and experience level, and by the end of the course I could see real improvement in everyone. Highly recommend to anyone interested in motorcycling and those who want to add more skills to their riding.

Experiencia negativa: Overall a tolerable experience. The enrollment process was simple, the ease of navigating the scheduling was alright and the staff were knowledgeable. Bob and Elliot were excellent instructors. The one thing I will say is they need to make it more transparent on the pricing if a student does not pass the end of course riding exam. After spending all the hours on the course and passing the written exam, I failed the riding portion by a single point. I've been riding dirt bikes for the past 7 years and have some riding experience. Albeit some "dirt riding habits" but I have experience in the fundamentals. During my time riding, I observed multiple riders making more mistakes than me that got their certificates at the end of the course. Some of those people also got an opportunity to re-do a technique in order to pass the end of course exam. I am curious as to why if I was deficient in one point that why was I not afforded the opportunity to re-do just one in order to pass and not have to pay $140 just to come to take that same test (not to mention wasting 8 hours of a day of the governments dime on active duty orders). Almost $600 later for a BRC I finally earned my certificate. I wish I did more research prior to enrolling here. There were a ton of options with much more streamlined process and would have saved me time and money. I place no blame on Bob and Elliot, I own my own mistakes. But I imagine MRE is motivated to not pass a student to get that nice $140 kick back to re-take the exam. Good rule of thumb to describe this place: it's all business. Long story short, look into more affordable and straightforward courses.

Experiencia fantástica: I had a wonderful experience, start to finish. The instructors were extremely knowledge, professional, and friendly. The course had the right balance of field training and classroom time. It is short and very digestible, but you truly learn a lot in that small timeframe. You will actually have fun…just remember to bring a snack! I even needed some special accommodation after the course, and Rick was very responsive, going out of his way to help. Experiencia fantástica: There are several things that make MRE Simi Valley so great, and I will cover each one in a few topical paragraphs. Some background on me is that I am a dirt and Moto-trials rider, who has bad habits for street riding - so though experienced, there is a lot I needed to learn, work on, and practice. First and foremost, the Zoom Meeting with instructor Dave (not sure of his last name), was perfectly concise and covered important topics. From the get-go, I knew that the instruction from this company was going to be concise and effective, and that the instructors at this company were going to be high-quality. Showing up on the first day of class, I met the owner of the company, an instructor named Bob, and an instructor named Dave Kaji. The owner of the company was as friendly as could be, Bob was obviously incredibly experienced, and I will get back to Dave Kaji later in this review. The first lessons learned were truly the first lessons to be learned riding a motorcycle. I’ve seen some reviews where people make it seem as if you need some level of experience to take this course, it just simply isn’t true. They taught us every tool needed in order to ride a motorcycle quickly and successfully. It was amazing watching people who had never touched a clutch before excel at it in just a few hours. The lessons were a mixture of the instructors reading off of the company handbook, as well as speaking directly to us for further explanation and to answer any questions. We ran through exercises that included everything from crab-walking a bike to learn the clutch friction zone all the way to negotiating extremely tight turns, and using counter-steering to evade obstructions. Despite my experience in dirt moto, I left better, and with a TON of tools in my toolbox I can utilize to break my bad street riding habits, and become a great rider. So, despite this being only a two day on motorcycle course, the tools and practice you’re given is timeless. When it comes to testing, none of it was a surprise. The written test was a series of questions directly off of the study material and covered in class - everybody in my group passed it with no problems. With that being said, it was not overly basic/simple, and it delved into topics such as outside-inside-outside curve negotiations, which are incredibly important. The on-motorcycle testing was nerve-racking, especially for people with OCD like myself, but that’s for the best. When you hit the streets and are surrounded by pedestrian tanks, your nerves are going to take a hold of you, and you need to have the muscle memory it takes in order to have the awareness you need to assess the situation and take the right action, even when in a fight or flight mode when muscle memory becomes critical. Nearly everybody in our class passed the test, and each exercise was directly taken from the exercises taught to us prior in the day. None of it was a surprise. To return back to the instructors, Dave Kaji is the gem of this course in my opinion. His relaxed and supportive demeanor was truly a breath of fresh air all while maintaining a confident hand to follow. He was the perfect mixture of highly professional and highly approachable, attuned to each person’s needs on an individual level, and he executed instruction FLAWLESSLY. The best thing this company can do is keep him around.

I recently had the pleasure of completing the MSF (Motorcycle Safety Foundation) course at MRE Corp. in Simi Valley, California, and I couldn't be more impressed with the experience. I want to extend my heartfelt thanks to Dave, Elliott, and Bob for their exceptional instruction and dedication to teaching the fundamentals of motorcycle riding. From day one, their professionalism and expertise were evident. Despite the sweltering heat during the June 29-30, 2024 sessions, they ensured our comfort with cold water and other thoughtful amenities. Their commitment to safety and thorough instruction made the course not only informative but also enjoyable. If you're considering taking this course, I highly recommend it. Dave, Elliott, and Bob truly go above and beyond to impart crucial skills and knowledge. Whether you're a beginner or looking to brush up on your riding skills, you'll leave with confidence and a solid foundation. I can't wait to apply what I've learned on the road. Experiencia fantástica: I took this class over the past weekend and had a 10/10 experience. All the instructors Dave, Rick, Bob, Elliot, and Duan were great. They were all equally kind and passionate about riding. I had so much fun!

Experiencia positiva: Took this class a few years ago and it was totally worth it. I would recommend any new riders to take this course. With that said. I took one star off due to the Instructor falsely insinuating that I was already "riding illegally" and that I'm a gang member riding with a crew. That happened the first day of class. I thought it was cringe and ridiculous but it didn't stop me from getting the training I needed.

Experiencia fantástica: Motorcycle friends share opinions about lots of things, especially about riding. But I quickly noticed they shared one universal thought about the *first thing* I should do as a new rider: TAKE A SAFETY CLASS. They were right. I enrolled in MRE's beginner class as soon as I purchased a bike. Even though staying off of it until I completed the course was difficult, I'm truly glad I did. Being able to spend a concentrated amount of time in a classroom (the first one via Zoom), and two days over a weekend on a motorcycle on a course (MRE provides the bikes), made all the difference in my confidence once I finally climbed aboard for my first ride. Rick (the owner), Elliott, Bob (who really should do stand-up), and the in-person classroom instructor (whose name eludes me but his masterful, hilarious instruction does not), were universally fantastic. They're patient, kind (but firm), and most importantly, there to teach you efficiently and effectively. I came away from the course hardly feeling like an expert (it's clear to me this will take years and logging lots of miles), but someone who has a firm grasp of motorcycle safety basics. I was immediately able to put these skills into play during my first few rides and continue to do so. It's difficult to overstate how important this class was for me once I pulled into actual traffic the first time. I cannot imagine having done so without this course. The bottom line is the cost is worth every penny. It gives you peace of mind and a strong grasp of the basics involved in safe cycling. Every day I learn something new, but this is always reinforced by the basics I got from MRE's instructors. I can't recommend this course enough and understand now fully why all my riding buddies recommended it!

All great people, who love what they do, day in and day out. Been wanting to take this course for a very long time. And glad I did. They made everything super simple and easy to learn. Safety is 100% the first priority. I put on my helmet and forgot the chinstrap, Bob was there to tell me. I forgot to put down my visor, they were there to tell me. They want to instill good riding habits on and off the bike, and I appreciate that very much. I’m glad to have been in this course, offered by this company. Thank you very much to these Instructors. Thank you MRE corp! Will be coming back after I have a experience on a motorcycle, to do the rest of the courses offered here. *Side Note: Bring lots of fluids, bring snacks. Get a GOOD night’s sleep. A lot of people don’t understand that riding and practicing on a motorcycle requires your 100% utmost attention. Bring the proper clothing/gear. They will check to see if you are wearing the proper gear/clothing*

The instructors were awesome - funny and entertaining, but VERY serious when it came to safety and teaching the core skills that will keep you out of trouble on the road. I got my first bike 2 weeks after the class, and the words of the instructors (Duan, Bob, Elliot) are ringing in my head... Turn your head. You go where you look. Counter steering. Manage your speed going INTO the turn. Practice stopping, swerving, low speed turns... A great experience. And all their bikes were in really good shape. Totally recommended if you're going to get a motorcycle license. I received my DMV paperwork a week after the class ended. Made the DMV process very smooth.

The teachers, the course, the knowledge, the fact that you do not have to take the lollipop driving test at the DMV, all of it… Excellent! In all serious, great time great experience. Experiencia positiva: excelent experience, was really a lot of fun and even went above my expetations as a riding course. as far as the class portion, was good,i still retained some of the info. so in that sence it was effective, but was slightly boaring as these things usually go tho. disapointed about the fact that "it may take up to a month to get your completion papers mailed to your house" these are needed BEFORE I, being under 21, can get my permit. :( so dont expect to get it right away.
