Experiencia fantástica: I can't say enough good things about this school. It's affordable, the people who work there are AMAZING and both of my kids loved them and are now licensed drivers. The instructors go above and beyond. So happy I chose them.

Honestly, it was a very great experience and my fear of being on the road was diminished. If you're nervous about driving this is definitely the place to go!

Experiencia negativa: I was just given the finger by an instructor on New Rd after they half swerved into my lane a few times. This person should not be driving nor teaching anyone else to drive. I came to google just to call the school and let them know but by these other reviews the school is fully aware and still employs this person. There are plenty of other driving schools that are way safer options.

As a complete beginner, I felt nervous at first, but her calm and encouraging approach helped me gain confidence quickly. A special thanks to Denise, who joined my final lesson and test prep—her practical advice and reassurance made a huge difference! Thanks to both of them, I passed my test feeling well-prepared. Experiencia fantástica: I just completed my 6 hours with Safety First, and I couldn't have asked for a better experience. Emir and Day are both amazing people that teach great driving skills and help you get confident behind the wheel. Additionally, the staff and instructors are super nice and easy to talk to. If you are looking to do your 6 hours, I highly recommend going through Safety First.

Experiencia positiva: My son just finished his lessons with Denise at Safety First, and it was a wonderful experience! He felt totally comfortable with her and got to practice everything he needs before he takes his behind-the-wheel next year. (We’ve already booked Denise for that!) The office explained everything clearly, and we were able to schedule quickly. They were also understanding when we had to reschedule one of the lessons. I’m only taking one star off because they were short on cars with AC on an extremely hot day, but otherwise I highly recommend Safety First and the instructor Denise!

Experiencia negativa: Was literally about to start one class here and then it got cancelled because the instructor said I “wasn’t normal”. Keep in mind that all I had basically done was be somewhat quiet and a little sleep deprived. The instructor didn’t say that list either of those as a reason (and cancelling for a student being quiet would also be ridiculous). A grown adult calling a teenager that for simply being quiet is frankly weird and incredibly disrespectful. Cannot recommend less. Go somewhere where you’ll actually be respected and treated like a human being.

Experiencia fantástica: Amazing experience with Denise. If you’re looking for a easy going instructor who is also very knowledgeable, she is the one as I’m sure with their other staff. She created a kind, encouraging, and engaging environment for me and I have no doubt that she can do the same for any other student or newcomers. Stephenie was able to email me right away within 24 hours on a weekend. I really appreciate the fast and personable interaction with the staff. Would recommend to any one.

Experiencia fantástica: They trained my son to get his permit. Safety first instructor Brian was a school teacher who provides training in summer. Such a wonderful person and my son has turned out to be very good driver. Safety first is a great school and my daughter will be now going to get her permit in a few days.

Experiencia negativa: Was driving today on Amwell Rd in Somerset and was rudely cutoff by an instructor around 3:20pm. Extremely reckless speeding, whipping in and out of lanes and almost clipped my mirror. I got flipped off after honking at him. This person should not be teaching anybody driving, and I certainly wouldn’t trust this person behind the wheel, especially with my teen. In case the photo isn’t clear, the license plate is S93JAB, and it looks like this person has a history of reckless driving as evidenced by other reviews.

Experiencia fantástica: The staff are great and kind. Emir was my instructor and he did an amazing job. Instilled a lot of confidence in me and helped me get comfortable on the wheel. Couldn’t recommend them enough, especially Emir!

Experiencia positiva: EDIT: After posting this review I was contacted by another one of their owners, Stephanie. She was extremely apologetic about my experience and seemed very sincere. She offered me a lesson free of charge with another one of their instructors, Ruby, who she ensured me would be a much better fit. I had my lesson with Ruby and it went great. She handled the situation with care and was very aware of my comfort level. I will say, if you are a first time behind the wheel driver who requires a more gentle personality, I would steer clear of Frank. However, after my more recent experience I would recommend Ruby. ORIGINAL REVIEW: I was given Frank as an instructor. It was one of the WORST experiences i have ever had. Without giving me ANY instructions he forced me to try to get on the highway my first time behind a car. When i expressed that I was not comfortable doing that he took over the car and started driving VERY UNSAFELY. This man was swerving left and right on the roads, constantly grabbing his phone from over me, yelling at random cars behind him and slamming things in the cars. This man did not seem mentally well and is NOT equipped to teach people yo drive—in fact he should get his license revoked. After, i called the driving school to complain about a very traumatic experience hoping that there would be some consequences. The owner basically told me I was making it up. For your own safety PLEASE DO NOT HIRE THIS COMPANY. Not only did I have a very threatening experience, but my complaints were also completely dismissed by the owner and i was basically called a liar. Disgusting company.

Experiencia negativa: My instructor was very reckless at times , I was lied to about what everything would cost. And to be honest I just feel robbed and like I haven't learned much at all! Big waste of my money.

Experiencia negativa: Was tailed and honked at by the instructor of one of their cars. Almost got rear-ended and then cut off when they took the shoulder. I started to honk back and got brake checked and flipped off. Absolute trash.

Experiencia negativa: Today 9/8 around 5:20pm, one of your drivers was seen by me and my wife speeding WELL ABOVE the limit down Stockton St turning onto Lovers Lane in Princeton, a tight residential area. Staring down at this phone texting to boot. Horrible look for anyone, let alone a driving school instructor.

Experiencia fantástica: They have a great training car, they offer practice on driving test day and use of their car. My son passed the driving test during the pandemic when the DMV was closed or had skeleton crews. Sf knows how to navigate DMV especially on test day.

Experiencia fantástica: I was a student at this driving school not too long ago, and because I have epilepsy it was extremely difficult to get my permit. However, instructor Brian helped me and my parents so much to get my permit. It ended up being a month long process due to the medical forms being looked over in the dmv, but Brian did us a huge favor and did it all for us. This place was amazing.

Experiencia negativa: Was almost hit by the instructor while making a left turn. AS THEY TRIED TO PASS ME ON THE LEFT. I would recommend not having anyone learn to "drive" here. Car picture attached. I called and the person who answered the phone was very apologetic. I have never seen anyone drive so crazy.

Experiencia fantástica: Great experience!!! They have excellent knowledge of the dmv and what documents to get in order etc. Definitely saved us time. Excellent instruction and parallel parking techniques. There car was easy to take the test with. They made this process easy.

Experiencia negativa: My son didn’t learn within the 6hr. The instructor just let him drive around no teaching. Not worth what I paid for. They did not tell us the location of the road test and we went to the wrong location. Not recommending!

Experiencia negativa: Just got absolutely cut off and almost in accident with an employee that was probably “off the clock”. Totally unacceptable and pray the students don’t have the driver using this car.

Experiencia fantástica: Never drove in the past & I learned how to drive within 3 sessions. Very affordable & Brian was the best I passed my road test literally the day before my permit expired. I would definitely recommend Safety First .

Experiencia negativa: What should have been an educational session and pleasant experience was nothing but that. Safety First, you need to choose your instructors more carefully, then train them to understand that your customers are your source of income. Therefore, they need to be handled accordingly. Your employee Brian should not be teaching kids to drive. He yells at them, is on his phone while they're driving and makes pit stops that last I checked where not included in the contract. He's never given my child the full 2 hours as agreed. Very displeased with your services. I know for a fact that you had other complains about him. It's time you had a talk with him and an attitude adjustment.

Experiencia negativa: I had a lot of faith in becoming a well rounded driver for my family, that changed today when my favorite driving school told me i suck and they cant help me. They much rather cash out on review lessons. Its all about the money and the face.

Not only was he driving under the speed limit in morning rush hour but when I flashed my lights he braked suddenly for absolutely no reason & also singled left while he swerved in front of me making sure I don’t get through, this Is a driving instructor with a School that says “safety first”. I realize I flashed my lights but I didn’t do anything violent to get this kind of reckless reaction from this individual. Please don’t send your kids with someone like that I wouldn’t trust this person or this fake company

Experiencia positiva: Last summer (2018), I did my driving lessons with Safety First and my instructor, John, was very great and helpful and provided great feedback on my driving. Proud to say that one year later (and after successfully getting my license), I'm doing great at driving! I get a smile every time I see car #39 pass by on the road because that's the one I drove during my lessons! :)

Experiencia fantástica: My son who attends boarding school and has no time to practice driving while is away from home before the road test. This summer he has two weeks time before the test. We decided to sharp his skill before the test and thru recommendation we found Raymond Lau, Safety First Driving School, to help my son. After serveral practices my son was able to pass the road test the very first test in end of June 2019. We are very happy with coach Lau who is very experience, patient, good communication and professional working with my 17th year old son. Both my son and I strongly recommend Safety First Driving School. He is the best that you can trust like we did.

They had more success with parking instructions in a short period of time then spending hours on my own the first time around. Also were good with exposing them to real traffic situations. All and all very pleasant experience for students and parents. Glad we selected SFDS.

Experiencia fantástica: I highly recommend Safety First. There is no words to describe the amazing job Merrilyn did with my daughter. She needed extra help with the parallel parking and not only she showed her parallel parking but she went through all she was going to need for her road test which by the way was the very next day. She was very helpful and friendly and my daughter felt so comfortable with her. She definitely went above and beyond and we are very grateful for that. and YES, my daughter passed the road test.

The office staff was friendly, knowledgeable, answering all my questions and concerns. There is no words to describe the amazing learning experience my son had in the car with Jason. My son was VERY nervous before starting the six hours and now is comfortable about being behind the wheel. I would STRONGLY recommend Safety First to everyone!!
