This is the best place for a new rider to start once they’ve made the decision to ride a 3-wheel motorcycle. This course includes four hours of classroom activities and up to eight hours of on-cycle riding exercises. Successful completion may lead to an insurance discount. Students must pass a knowledge and skill test for successful completion. This course qualifies for the NJ road test waiver for a 3 Wheel motorcycle license.
The Intermediate RiderCourse (IRC) is an approximately 5 hour riding course designed to help you develop basic riding skills. Exercises focus on a variety of cornering skills and limited-space maneuvers. By the end of the course, you should be able to handle a motorcycle well enough to negotiate normal street and traffic situations. Motorcycles are provided for your use. You MUST bring your own DOT approved helmet. RENJ is not loaning out helmets at this time.
The BRC 2 is for the rider who wants to refresh and practice street riding maneuvers. The 5 hour course, taken on your own motorcycle, fine-tunes riding skills, develops finesse and emphasizes strategies to reduce risks. The ability to handle various riding situations is developed and reinforced throughout the course. This is done by putting you through specially designed on-cycle maneuvers that improve your decision-making process.
This one-day course utilizes and builds on your basic skills as well as helps with personal risk assessment – to help you improve your overall riding. It includes a fast-paced classroom segment with several fun interactive activities to improve perception and hazard awareness. Range exercises enhance both basic operating skills and crash-avoidance skills. Improving your braking and cornering finesse is emphasized. The course is beneficial for riders on any type of street motorcycle.

Rider Education of NJ: Opiniones
Experiencia fantástica: Took the course this weekend at CCM. Tom and Dave were great coaches, super prone for the whole group to learn and commit to safety riding. For those who are doubting due to risk, it’s a very controlled environment. Coaches will not let you forward until you master the previous skill. Great experience overall, I would do it again.
Experiencia fantástica: I took the BRC course with Jade and Prem and I could not recommend it enough. They were both knowledgeable, patient and great teachers.
Experiencia fantástica: If you ever had any apprehension about learning to ride a motorcycle, put them all aside! These guys are all consummate professionals that will actually teach you and not make you feel like an idiot. They are all helpful and knowledgeable people that want to see you succeed. They don’t give away the endorsement, but they are certainly not looking to fail you. The course is really fun too.
Experiencia fantástica: I took the basic riders course in Piscataway. Scott and Jade are great instructors, I learned so much in the 2 days. Any questions were answered quickly and thoroughly. Really worth the $350.
Experiencia fantástica: Glad I made the decision of coming here. I came with zero experience and knowledge on motorcycles and I left feeling ready get my own bike and further my experience. Instructers are very friendly and clear with explanations, just have to pay attention. Great experience
Experiencia fantástica: This course was amazing!!! Greg, Jane , and Scott was amazing taking this class was the best decision I made. They teach you amazing skills that will last a long time and that you’re safe on the road. I high recommend this class to any new riders !! I absolutely love this class !!
Experiencia fantástica: Amazing class! Jade, Greg, Scott were amazing instructors. I learned a lot and highly recommend this course!
Experiencia fantástica: I had an amazing experience with RE of NJ! Just graduated yesterday and got huge knowledge in just 2 days! The instructors are very professional and their knowledge is beyond limits. I had 0 riding experience and in two days i got my license! Worth every penny! And im definitely gonna continue working with them for intermediate and advanced classes! Totally suggesting my friends and family! Very thankful and grateful!
Experiencia fantástica: If anyone is ever interested on getting their first bike but don’t know where to start and or don’t know where to get some training and skill, this is the place to go! My husband and I just completed our two day training course and our instructors Jade and Steve were amazing! Not only were they super knowledgeable, they made it so much fun to learn! We can’t wait to go back on our bikes for the next course!! Much appreciated you two! You guys rock!
Experiencia fantástica: I thoroughly enjoyed the basic rider course. Even as an experienced rider, having never completed a motorcycle safety course nor ever had a motorcycle endorsement; I was not looking forward to taking this class, I was expecting it to be painfully dull and boring, but the course instructors made it a most fun and enjoyable experience. Jade is an awesome teacher, and so is Stephen.
Experiencia fantástica: I took the Basic Rider Course (BRC) over 8/1 and 8/2 at the Piscataway location with Nick and Bob, would def recommend for a comprehensive and thorough overview of what you need to know. “Friction zone”
Experiencia fantástica: I can't recommend taking at least the introductory course through Rider Education Of New Jersey enough. I went from being a complete novice on two wheels to feeling excited to ride and practice by the end of the weekend. The instructors, Jade and Scott, greeted us like modern-day Bonnie and Clyde and were absolutely fantastic. They provided their own experiences and tips throughout the weekend, keeping the mood light and fun without ever showing frustration with anyone. By the end of the course, I found the exam to be the easiest part of the entire week. It was a fantastic class, and I will definitely be looking to continue with the intermediate and advanced courses in the future.
Experiencia negativa: They don't have any intention of paying, how are they thinking of getting an extra 350$ from you and they make you wait 3 months for it. Do not come here who has self-respect. 2 teachers in A course are outrageously racists
Experiencia fantástica: I had absolutely no experience coming into this class. Never even road a dirt bike. However, Brian and Al made the course easy and engaging. I was clearly the least experienced in my class but was able to really buckle down during the 3 day course and passed. Literally could not have done it without all the instructors and their patience. Highly recommend.
Experiencia fantástica: Took the BRC a few weekends ago on May 5th/6th. I had an awesome fun time from both educational and individual perspectives. My instructors were Jade and Trevor. I cannot thank them enough for being awesome when it came to teaching, instructions, tips, feedback, etc! They want to see you succeed and will help with their best efforts. Not only that, but they teach and reinforce the utmost important thing: Safety!!! I have never ridden a motorcycle prior, but I had always wanted to. Taking the BRC is right way to go if you are any bit interested in learning to ride, especially when you need to learn the right and safe way to do so. Don't hesitate, just go for it because you won’t regret it.
Experiencia fantástica: Took the BRC course on May 5th and 6th. Had such a great time. My instructors were Jade and Trevor. I can't thank them both enough! While safety is their main priority, they make sure you are also having a good time. They helped me break past my nerves and gain confidence in my abilities. Thanks to them both I am growing more confident the more I ride. For those that have been wanting to learn but have been putting it off because fear, I recommend you take this course instead. You'll wish you had done so sooner.
Experiencia negativa: This person took my money, he is a scamer , PLEASE DON'T GIVE HIM ANY MONEY, YOU WILL BE DISAPPOINTED!!!!!
Experiencia fantástica: Jade is great instructor, she helped grow out skills very much, we had a lot of fun! Greg gave some really good advice on mastering the clutch control. Very encouraging would highly recommended taking this course for any beginner!
Experiencia fantástica: Fun class great instructors Jim and Brain,I will go back for the intermediate class
Experiencia fantástica: Best School ever I attended to. It was the best place I ever learn how ride motorcycle and the instructors where the best Steve snd the other instructors where the best and very good school to learn the function of motorcycles and to operate it. I would recommend it to anyone who’s going to learn about motorcycle
Experiencia fantástica: I took the Basic Rider Course (BRC) over 10/30 and 10/31 at the Piscataway location with Jade and Scott, and they were great. They were clear about instructions and made sure everyone understood what each exercise was and what the goal was. They were casual to talk to and would give you some extra help/explanation if you felt confused or unsafe about any concept. And they really valued your safety. If you did something dangerous or broke the rules, they would let you know. They made the class have a fun atmosphere while also teaching you how to ride safely. As for more info on the BRC, everyone got some old Suzuki GN125's to ride other than one Yamaha dirt bike and a lowered bike if you requested it early. The first day we got on the bikes after a little bit of talking, and did several exercises covering clutch control/friction zone, braking, counter steering, some slow speed maneuvers, and maybe a few other concepts. We were done about an hour earlier than the allotted time. The second day was braking after curves, maneuvering over obstacles, swerving, practice for the skills assessment, and the skills assessment. We were done about an hour and a half before the allotted time.
Experiencia negativa: I would issue fair warning about this school or other driving schools for large riders. I am 6,2 roughly 320 lbs. Unfortunately the bikes that are used to train you on are only 125cc engines. I looked up these bikes and the specs came back as a max weight of 250. The reason I looked it up was because during my class their motorcycles just didn’t have the Power to get moving with me and gear on. As a result clutch and throttling was a big challenge in fact during one of the exercises the foot peg broke off my bike resulting in me almost crashing as my foot hit the floor when foot peg broke (I think I tore a muscle in my hamstring as I can barely move that one leg today) . Instructors were good, but again large riders you might be better off, going to DMV getting permit and practicing with your own bike. Just be warned I asked for accommodation multiple times initially when first getting started but didn’t seem like an option even for riding the bicycle. It also seems unfair that the school is not upfront about weight limits and the bikes they use as if I were more informed I would have looked for another solution upfront. Plus I passed the written test but I cannot get an endorsement at least to get my permit so I can practice with my own bike.
Experiencia fantástica: The coaches were very helpful throughout the course. They placed safety and learning above all else while keeping it fun and entertaining.
Experiencia fantástica: Had a fantastic time taking the classes offered (basic, experience, and advanced). The coaches teaching the class were super helpful and encouraging. It was really cool watching everyone go from a beginner not having any experience to being able to ride the bike. I enjoyed it so much that I came back and took the experienced and advanced classes. I cannot recommend this enough! I learned so much and had other students who been riding for 40+ years learn new techniques as well. 100% worth the time, money, and effort put into this course.
Experiencia negativa: Your educator is a bully. He makes learning dreadful.and gives students poor directions. He yells and curses.. worst experience I had to encounter with such an unprofessional rude man Steve. Because of him many students disliked the class. Learning should be fun not torture. Do yourself a favor and seek a more professional environment to learn and to receive clear directions to learn. Both instructors gave contradictory directions, confusing.
Experiencia fantástica: Took the class yesterday and today and had a great time whilst learning quite a lot. Lauren and Walt were fantastic driving coaches also very skilled themselves.Even in the rain had a good time with great people and new riding buddies. if your lucky Lauren may even tell you her plans on domesticating a moose. Thanks for everything!!!
Experiencia fantástica: These guys are great I learned more with them, then riding on my own. It's well worth it mentally, physically and will build your self confidence. It's a must In my honest opinion
Experiencia fantástica: I took the class last Tuesday and Wednesday. Day one picking up my bike and you guys save my life with the swerve and stop.....had about 5 seconds between me and a pickup in front of me, he locked up his brakes doing close to 70. Executed a proper swerve and am safe & sound. Without this class I would be flat on the side of route 80. Thanks again guys!!! (Also it was alot of fun!)
Experiencia fantástica: Took the three day Basic Rider Course at RVCC in North Branch, NJ. Very methodical in fundamentals of safely operating a motorcycle out in the real world. Bob and Ralph get A+. Thank you R.E.of N.J. for this class.
Experiencia fantástica: So much fun
Experiencia positiva: I took the basic motorcycle driving course in order to get a NJ motorcycle license. Fun and had no issues. I didn’t nor do I think anyone actually visits this office location, instead will met at Piscataway Vocational School.
Experiencia fantástica: Took a class with these guys over the summer...so thankful for everything they taught me! They teach the fundamentals, don't expect to be ready to cruise the turnpike after you leave the course, but they build you an excellent foundation and give you all the tools to practice and learn on your own. If you're interested in learning to ride, this course is a must!!!
Experiencia fantástica: They teach you priority while riding to ensure that you ride safely. And it's the quickest way to get your emdorsement.
Experiencia negativa: I was really excited to take the basic rider motorcycle course with this school. I studied the materials thoroughly, transferred my NY driver's license to NJ in advance, purchased an awesome DOT helmet and borrowed a friend's car to drive the distance to Morris County College from Jersey City for the 3 days. Unfortunately, my excitement was dashed and my experience with the school has been extremely poor. I have since filed a claim with my bank for a return of my monies on a course I never got to take through no fault of my own. Upon arrival on the first day of class the administrator alerted me to the fact that in the license transfer, NJ DMV had mistakenly issued me an ID card instead of a class D license. I was turned away on the spot and told to call the school to reschedule. The following day (Sat) I went straight to DMV, they sent me to their supervisor and promptly issued me the correct class D license. I called RENJ on the Monday after that weekend - they asked me to email the corrected license which I did, and I was told to call back later in the week when my paperwork was sent back from the site. I followed up on that Thursday and was told my case was with their Board of Directors. I didn't hear anything from them for over a week. When I called to follow up I was told that they were super busy, having a tough week and that no one had further reviewed my case. I did receive a call in about an hour after with the response that I would need to pay an additional $50 rescheduling fee to reschedule my class. I explained that I felt this was an unacceptable situation, considering that I had not cancelled, I had showed up at the class on time, and was turned away for a DMV mistake that neither the school or myself had control over. In response, I was told that they have lots of other cancellation situations and that my situation didn't warrant any waiver of the rescheduling fee. If I really wanted to follow up on the matter I couldn't talk to the manager or supervisor, I had to write a letter to the Board of Directors with my request to waive the fee! I wrote that email to the Board of Directors requesting that the $50 fee be waived and that my course be rescheduled for a certain date. It was important that I take the class this month as I have to pick up my new motorcycle at mid month. They finally responded in writing that they would NOT waive the $50 fee and that it was my fault. It was clear to me after over 2 weeks of lack of responsiveness from the school and a request that I pay a $50 rescheduling fee for a situation that was not my fault, that this school is only interested in keeping my money and not really evaluating the facts and delivering quality service. Incidentally, I also discovered after re-reviewing their written terms that they only charge $25 for rescheduling, and that they were actually trying to GOUGE me further by requesting a $50 fee. I decided to start a claim with my bank to return the fees. Their unwarranted punitive treatment of me in this situation made me really doubt the quality of training they could provide on the motorcycle. RENJ has poor customer service and doesn't do the right thing by its customers - this is a company that is interesting in taking your money only.
Experiencia fantástica: I took the three (3) day basic motorcycle class this past weekend with Steve and Kevin in Piscataway, NJ. The instructors were awesome, they had a ton of knowledge and experience and were really good about teaching every participant the skills they will need to ride safely. I really enjoyed the class and am thankful that I took it, it was worth every penny!
