Experiencia negativa: Shitty school they need new instructors all they do is sit there in their truck at the range and throw you in a truck and expect you to figure it out on your own. I payed 4500 for this course that was supposed to take 4-6 weeks took me 9 weeks! Terrible communication. I felt lost at this school and very uncomfortable. They need more professional cdl trainers than this. They set me up for failure. Wouldn’t go here there are a lot better schools who will train you a lot better and longer and get you done and tested in half the time!

Experiencia fantástica: From start to finish. Them boys got me right for sure. If you are serious about getting certified. If you’re serious about bossing your life and pockets up…. Sage is going to get you in there and through there.

Experiencia fantástica: They should consider starting to teach the training in Spanish. I recently got my learner's permit and the only school that provides Spanish language education in this state is so bad that I am very frustrated. On top of that, it is very expensive. You arrive and the instructor tells you to do a reverse maneuver and never explains how to do it. On top of that, he just sits there and if you do it wrong, he starts yelling at you. It is frustrating. Also consider teaching in Spanish. It seems that they are a very professional and impeccable school!

Experiencia fantástica: I had a great experience during my time with Sage. I attended to gain my class A CDL. The Staff is great! Dawn, at the front desk is super kind/sweet, very informative on the things you'll need in order to attend classes, always takes the time to make sure you know what is going on and what is expected of you. The Director, Debora was very personable and made sure my needs were met when my schedule was a bit tricky due to my working swing shift. The "in classroom" teachings performed by Jeff and Dennis were explained in great depth, any all and of my questions were answered in detail and extra help was provided if I was struggling to understand something. Pre-Trip classes were hands on, in a group setting with multiple models of trucks. I feel like this provided the ability to quickly memorize the pre-trip items and a sense of comradery. Jeff and Dennis together provided both sides of the coin, the amount of experience they have in legalities and road time is extraordinary. These instructors truly care about their students, making sure they're ready for the state testing and are practicing safe driving skills. Backing courses and drive time are conducted one on one so you get all the personal attention and can hone the skills being taught. A big THANK YOU to everyone involved in the process (Albert and Mike as well!) Also, Happy retirement to Dennis!

I was properly educated and taught everything I needed to know to confidently achieve my goals of attaining my CDL and a great job after. Jeff is an amazing instructor and I learned so much from him. Also working with Dawn was great as she was so helpful throughout the whole process. Thanks Sage for helping me launch my new career in trucking!

Experiencia fantástica: To put it simply: Excellent teachers. Wonderful people. Seamless experience. If you need a CDL, go to SAGE. To be more detailed: With the changes to CDL requirements made Feb 7th, 2022; I was required to get a Class B CDL with no one at my work knowing how to proceed with the new changes. We found SAGE on the FMCSA website, and from the first phone call, I knew they were going to be winners. Organizing and working around schedules was easy and accommodating. The experience of the teachers really shines through in class and behind the wheel. Their level of understanding CMV's allows them to explain complex topics in easy to understand terms. If you go in with a willingness to learn, and study the material they provide you, you will leave with a plethora of knowledge, (and a CDL if you pass the tests. XD Haha) IF YOU ARE OBTAINING A CDL FOR THE FIRST TIME AND DON'T KNOW WHAT TO DO. CALL THEM. They will help you know what you will need to do, and when you enroll in the class, they will provide you with everything you need to know to pass the tests. If you have questions, call them. Overall it was a wonderful learning experience. 5/5 stars all the way!

Experiencia fantástica: Highly Recommend this school. Debra is amazing and does as much as she can to make everybody happy. Dawn is a sweet lady who makes you feel welcome as soon as you walk through the door. The instructors especially Mike are very patient especially when you make the same mistake a million times and they have to tell you for the millionth time how to fix it. If you need something explained in a way to help you understand ask Mike. Parallel was going to be the death of me, he took me out and boom I understood what I was doing wrong the first time because he took the time to show me and give me step by step instructions. Again you will not go wrong attending this school, ignore the negative comments, they are probably from disgruntled people who didn’t get their way and didn’t put in the effort.

Experiencia fantástica: I competed the CDL A course here at sage in just 4 weeks exactly. It was a smooth and knowledgeable experience. Dennis in the classroom answered all my questions and concerns about being on the road, and provided great lessons. Before the class I have never driven stick shift, so I was worried about driving. Mike was my driving instructor and he taught me how to drive a double clutch stick in 4 hours. He taught me how to drive in a way where I would know how maneuver the truck and trailer further than just passing the test. He went on to explain how he wants me to be able to perform my job well and in any situation, not just pass the licensing test. Sage has a kind of notoriety in the trucking industry. When applying for positions with major companies, they all recognized sage which is ideal. I debated going to this school at first, but I’m glad I went. It should be your first choice!

Dennis, Jeff and Mike are really awesome guys and will teach the correct way to do things if you follow their instructions! I passed my CDL test because of these guys. Thanks so much!!!

Experiencia negativa: This school is a joke. The manager “Debra” and Jeff were rude and they don’t care about the students. Debra doesn’t know how to manage the place and doesn’t know what communication is. Jeff will fail you in the driving test regardless of how perfect you are, and he can’t even explain why he fails you. I recommend whoever “actually” manage this place, to check with students and see the performance of what is called “the management”.

Experiencia fantástica: Sage Truck Driving School in Sandy Utah far exceeded my expectations. If you want to learn from a team of professionals then this is the place to go. The classroom and driving instructors are all personable, eager to teach, and have many years of real world truck driving experience. That alone makes Sage the right move. If that’s not enough, you have the support of the program director and staff assistant. You will know them by name and if you have questions then they have the answers. There is not one member on the Sage team that doesn’t want to see you succeed. You must remember that as with anything in life, you get out of it what you put in to it. If you go prepared with a desire to learn then I am confident that you will have every bit the positive and rewarding experience that I enjoyed.

Experiencia fantástica: This school is not only nationally reputable, but has a long history in Salt Lake City area. They are strict testers that are here to make sure you can do the job out on the road and have the knowledge to stay safe and keep your truck in good repair. They will not backpedal and falsify documents to make you look better (and they HAVE been asked to do so). They want quality drivers coming out of their school, which is why they are strict. The in class section of the school focuses on you learning, not just memorizing, what you need to know to be a good driver and to be able to function in the current trucking environment. They go through individual chapters in a book that can be bought publicly, but the knowledge that comes from the instructors in conjunction with the books makes for a higher quality of education. The instructors are knowledgeable and are willing to answer any question they can or find the answers for you. The management is top notch, they are here for you, to help you learn and continue forward in any way they can. The last review I saw on here was so negative... Perhaps he should have paid attention and quit smelling his own upper lip. And quit blaming everything on everyone else.

Experiencia negativa: DO NOT ATTEND THIS JOKE OF A SCHOOL, they take advantage of State funding by asking for thousands of dollars to attend. Then you sit in a classroom for EIGHT hours a day for two WHOLE weeks doing chapter work out of a book you can buy on amazon for less than $18! On one of my drives I spent over two of the four hours on the side of the road waiting for the truck to work again because they do zero maintenance! The classroom smells like urine & is disgustingly dirty! DO NOT WAIST YOUR TIME & ESPECIALLY MONEY ON THIS PLACE. For less than $500 & in shorter than a week you can get lessons from a 3rd party tester on the states website. I COMPLETELY REGRET ALLOWING THIS PLACE TO WAIST MY TIME!

Experiencia fantástica: Sage was an amazing experience, I had Colin as my classroom instructor and he knows what he's talking about, has a great way of teaching the material. Jeff was my driving teacher and the guy is extremely knowledgeable, knows how to explain and simplify what he wants you to do and learn, as well as what you will be expected to do so the transition into the test is easy. Jeff, Colin, Crystal, Mike, thank you all. Definitely an awesome experience for me there. I would highly recommend Sage in Sandy to anyone thinking about cdl school.

Experiencia fantástica: I just graduated from Sage school. I had a great time there and all of the teachers are great. Mike was an excellent driving instructor and I really learned a lot from him. He didn't make me feel stupid at all. One thing I would say that if you're going to this school, make sure that you start learning pretrip at the beginning of your training. I didn't get that and it really would have helped me. Overall I would say it was a good experience. The staff does care about you graduating and will answer any question you have.

Experiencia fantástica: Couldn't have had a more rewarding experience.I gained a wealth of knowledge from the instructors. Jeff Mike and Collin were extremely helpful and very encouraging. And the one on one instruction made a world of difference.

Experiencia negativa: I was treated very poorly! Management was very rude and treated me and my peers as if we were children in preschool. On the upside the instructors were awesome! I do not recommend this school.

Experiencia fantástica: I LOVE this school! The instructors are great and are really patient. Class time is actually fun, unlike road master. They are very understanding of life and things come up and allow you to make up what you have missed. Thourough curriculum and repetitive so it sticks I'm still currently a student almost done with week 2. So far I highly recommend this school! Btw tuition is about $1200 cheaper then RoadMaster as well.. More bang for your buck ☺️

Experiencia negativa: Class time here is horrid. A different trainer after break and none of them communicate on what's been covered so you end up spending your 8 hours of class time going over the same material and watching the same videos over and over and over because of the lack of communication. The trainers are nice and pretty cool but some of them go on and on about personal stories that have nothing to do with class time. They sound like a truck driver who has been out on the road for a year with Noone to talk to.

I learned from professionals with real life experience in the truck driving industry. The level of expertise from these instructors is incredible and I appreciated every minute of time I was able to spend with them, learning, picking their brains with questions and receiving high quality instruction from some of the smartest and genuine people I have known. Sage changed my life and I will always remember the professionalism and honesty I received from their great instructors and training programs.

Experiencia fantástica: Sage is the best. Everyone there makes you feel at home and you will be ready to take the state CDL exam. One student per truck is the only way to learn how to drive. Tons of drive time to the point where you feel like its no problem to get behind the wheel of any big rig out there.

I say this because I researched every Truck driving school in Utah before going to this one.This is the ONLY one that has ONE on ONE student, teacher. Other schools will cram 4 to 5 students in a truck, how will you learn to drive a truck when your in the back of the truck watching other people drive and when its finally your turn to drive you drive for an hour or two if your lucky. This school is great because you have 4 hour sessions at a time with a teacher that knows there stuff( Russ and Dave are great teachers) and you get your CDL in 3 weeks and a BIG plus they help you get ALL your endorsements. They also have recruiters come in and offer you a job before you finish school, so you have a job and options when you get out of school.
