Experiencia negativa: It’s been a really frustrating experience. Trying to get a drive schedule is like winning the lottery! My son has been trying to schedule his last drive for the past four weeks but hasn’t been able to get one. We’ve been on the site right at 10:00 AM when the drive times are released, yet we still can’t get a spot. I’ve called and left messages, but they haven’t returned my call, and it’s been over a week. If I could do this over again, I would choose a different school to work with.

Experiencia negativa: Our son came to use this school for the driving test. The instructor failed him for “running a red light” while turning left on a yellow light, while the intersection was clear and safe to do so, the instructor stated he does not know what the handbook says on it and that the light was NOT red. If you do not know what the handbook says or what the laws are with a yellow light in an intersection, you should be educated, to clearly pass or fail someone. For the record the law states, so long as the intersection is clear and it’s safe to turn, you are able to make a left hand turn, when the light is yellow.

Experiencia negativa: My daughter had a drive with Margene, who repeatedly grabbed the wheel, then hit the break while yelling at my daughter to hit the gas…. Which doesn’t work well for obvious reasons. Then while Margene was driving my daughter she pulled out her own phone and STARTED TEXTING WHILE DRIVING! I am furious! Per my daughter she swerved into the other lane a few times and also hit a few curbs. The fact that this instructor would text while driving is so beyond inappropriate. Thankfully when I called management they seemed to understand and said they’ll make sure we have better instructors- but I’m still so upset that this would even happen.

Experiencia negativa: Ridiculous prices so expensive and they won’t let reschedule and won’t refund. Don’t waste your money and time here.

Experiencia negativa: We’ve been trying to schedule drives for my daughter for 3 months now, but the schedule opens at 10am on Wednesdays and fills within 5 minutes. This is a ridiculously poor method of scheduling and frankly subpar service for the cost of the program. Calling A-1 is unhelpful as they just refer you to the website. It’s to the point I’m considering just enrolling her in a different program. I’m telling everyone I can to avoid A-1 at this point.

Experiencia fantástica: Just a great experience I drove with Mary and she was the best ever I signed up and got my license in less than 2 weeks. Easy and simple course.

Experiencia fantástica: I would totally recommend this Drivers Ed School. My daughter Kailani drove mainly with Margene. My kid felt comfortable, she enjoyed the 2 hour drives, and she got all her questions answered. Margene also did the complete Road test with my daughter before her drivers test which she passed at Drive Right in Midvale. Besides the scheduling of Drives, I highly recommend this place and advise all future students to complete their drives 4 months prior from when their school registration expires that way you don't need to worry about the scheduling. AND To log in Wednesdays at 10am to BOOK a drive if you do end up procrastinating like we did. I will definitely bring my others kids here in the future.

Experiencia negativa: Terrible communication they give you a timelines and it's almost impossible to even get a drive. Wouldn't recommend A1 driving school. It's ridiculous find somewhere else for the love of you or your child. I'd be like paying for nothing. They are low staffed to so it makes it harder to get any drives in. Go elsewhere. They cause more stress than a promising driving future. Completely unprofessional aswell. They are not allowed to touch you yet mine have moved me around and touched me causing me more stress just don't do it.

Experiencia fantástica: I had my drives with Jackie, Margene, and Randy. They were all so amazing, and gave me the practice I needed all in their own unique and effective ways! They gave me useful tips and tricks and each made me feel sooooo much more confident and safe as a driver. I learned a lot from each of them, and I highly recommend their services!!

Experiencia fantástica: So I took the driving class with Jackie ,and I am super happy with driving class. He taught me from the basic , like start and stop , and to the more complex ones like 3 point turning , parallel parking .super helpful trainer .

Experiencia fantástica: I would definitely recommend driving here, especially with the teacher Jackie. Jackie is a very good teacher, and he makes sure that you know what you are doing and makes you a better driver. He makes sure that you do whatever driving maneuver that you are working on almost perfect and he makes sure you do it multiple times, so that when the test comes you are prepared.

Experiencia fantástica: I managed to finish my drives pretty quick, 2 of them were with Margene, she is fun and easy to make conversation with. She answered all my questions and was patient when correcting my mistakes. I definitely recommend doing drivers ed through A-1!

It ended up being too difficult for my daughter to do drivers Ed in the Summer through the school, so A-1 really saved us! I really like how you can register for the drives online. The process was quicker than I anticipated!

Experiencia fantástica: John, the British instructor at the Draper location, is wonderful! His calm and reassuring manner gave my daughter the confidence she was lacking in rush-hour traffic. I would recommend A-1 to anyone who needs more help with driving practice beyond being taught by a parent.

Experiencia fantástica: The classes are wonderfully clear and the instructors are kind and helpful in preparing you for your road test and to be a safe driver in general. The classes are targeted towards teenage drivers but are great for any age or language ability.

Experiencia positiva: I had a fairly good experience with A-1 driving. It was nice to be able to take the classes whenever I wanted to in whatever order as my schedule is quite hectic. I was able to get observes fairly easily, but it's quite hard to get drives. The time they opened up, 10 am, was quite inconvenient for me as I am in school at the time and with my limited access to technology while my teacher is teaching (we're not allowed to have phones out or open computers) I was unable to reserve drives for myself. So my dad had to schedule my drives for me, if he could get any. And the two times he did he forgot to tell me about them so I could be checked out of school (that was our fault but because I didn't know when the drives were I wasn't able to remind my parents). The instructor was very helpful in helping me get drives once I got my fees paid, and called me whenever she had open drives so that I could get them done. The things I would recommend to this place is change the time the drives are released, and maybe try to hire more people so more drives can be scheduled. Also, please let the students drive and only use the passenger break in emergencies. It's very hard to learn how to drive or when to use the break properly if the instructor is pushing the break for you. Those are my only recommendations, and otherwise I had a great experience!

Experiencia negativa: Impossible to get drive times!! You pay your money right up front but they cannot deliver the services. They "give you a year" to complete the course. I can't think of a single person who wants to pay for services that won't be rendered for an entire year. Come on A1!! If you can't deliver services in a timely manner, then hire more staff. Not like this is anywhere close to free so I'm sure you can afford to do so!!

Experiencia negativa: You do not get priority for drives even if you have turned 16. We had to wait over a month to get all our drives in. They gave us the wrong info for our driving test sending us on a wild goose chase for an address that doesn’t exist. I would NOT recommend this company. So unprofessional and very unhelpful and unapologetic for any inconvenience they cause you.

Experiencia negativa: Do not use this company (or at least the Riverton location, not sure if their other locations are just as bad) It is impossible to get drive times. It literally opened today at 10 am and by 10:01 all of the drive times were booked. We were online refreshing to get them booked because we have been unsuccessful for the last 3 weeks. Well this week was no better. They need more available drive times/cars. Online work complete - 6 hours of observation complete - Drive time - Can't schedule Ridiculous!!! Oh and their customer service sucks if you have any questions and need to call them for anything, not friendly at all and unhelpful.

Experiencia fantástica: This was my second time taking my driving test with this driving school/ location. My instructor was very nice and professional. When I first took my driving test I wasn’t prepared and was clueless what to expect to do. Biggest regret and I’m sure my instructor knew it but he was very nice on telling my why I didn’t pass. He gave me great tips and reminders and even said if I practiced over the weekend I could possible come back on Monday and retake it and most likely pass it. I rescheduled and came back the next Saturday. Had the same instructor, did the same thing we did the last time. I was so excited when he said I passed and gave me other tips on things he noticed I could do better on. I was grateful for such a great instructor and glad that I was able to get tips on things I never realized I did wrong or needed to work on. I recommend people to take their driving test at this location.

Experiencia positiva: While i feel like their online testing for students is very helpful, i have only found one person in their company (cottonwood heights) who knows how to communicate correctly what actually needs to be done/completed for your child to obtain their license. Their checklist is inaccurate. There are more steps that need to be completed after your child finishes their course; their written test, the state online traffic and trend exam as well as a drive test (somewhere else for an additional fee). The driver just has them run errands, which is helpful in a way as most of the time we are driving to do errands. However my child felt like he learned so much more when the guy (last drive) actually went over road knowledge/drive test and had my child drive (not do errands). It truly is on the parents to spend time driving with their child, which you need 40 hours anyways. Their customer service is like pulling teeth. You’ll be told a different thing each time you call, which can be frustrating. And when you call for clarification they act as if you’re bothering them. The only person we found who knew how to effectively communicate was at the cottonwood heights location. For the price i feel like this company is 3 stars due to their customer service and lack of communication skills.

Experiencia positiva: Good but not great, people are nice, however the line to get drive lessons behind the wheel is long and you can just apply online and just for 2 weeks on advance, this schedule process need to be reviewed.
