Experiencia positiva: I had a overall good experience at Sage of Lexington. The staff was very pleasant and helpful during my time there. The office staff ( Charles and Katie ) were always available for any assistance I may have needed. The instructors were patient and knowledgeable.

Experiencia negativa: I would not recommend this school the amount of time in between classes is unacceptable the training is very poor and unsupportive and if your struggling the lack of a steady schedule makes it hard to learn this school has a larger fail rate then success they don't have the proper amount of trucks or trainers or yard space to accommodate students only reason I attended was how easy the finance process was however if you fail your CDL driving exam its $300 to get a retake and you wont get a test for 3-6 weeks keep in mind 50% of students will fail with this school keep your options open and look for another school

If you stick to those keys, this school will get you where you need to be. The director, Kate and the instructors Chad and Tina care about the students progress and they will go out of their way to help you if they see that you are putting in the effort. They do not set you up to fail and the only thing that can get in the way of a persons success is themselves. I recommend this school to anyone who is looking to obtain their CDL.

Experiencia negativa: My name is Montana bettis, I was enrolled at sage march 14, 2022 until 04/15/22. I was suppose to take try for my license on 04/13/22, get to the dmv on shop rd prepared and on time to test. My examiner comes out to inspect the truck, could not take the test due to improper DOT inspection form, before I left the test site, I called the school in Lexington, SC let her hear what the examiner had to say, they was unable to provide the proper documentation so they had to reschedule my test date. I left dmv went to the school from trying to figure out my next test date, as well as called the regional directors contact number, and emailed her no response except from her secretary that it would take 72 hours to get me another test date. So I reported to the VA since I used my GI bill, and let them know and the next morning 04/14/22 I had a new test date. My new test date is 05/11/22 a whole month later, which is ridiculous if you ask me. I have seen students fail and have a new test within 2 weeks, me on the other hand I did not even get an attempt at taking a test, like it was my fault the truck had the improper DOT inspection form. I also had a classmate who receive very few training, and kept trying to contact the regional director about a refund and nothing, so it took for her to get a lawyer in order to get her money back smh. The regional director is not on site or takes days to reply. When I enrolled I was told to quit my job because it would be from 8:30 am until 4:30 pm which was all false advertisement, some days I would go for four hours, and some days I did not come. The yard where you do maneuvers is horrible, trucks also kept going down and had to go the shop, so when I came to do what I was suppose to do on the days I was scheduled I felt was a waste of time and only did pretrip. Not enough training, not enough instructors, the scheduling is so bad. I WOULD NOT RECOMMEND SAGE IN LEXINGTON SOUTH CAROLINA TO ANYONE, I can not speak on the other sage institutes in America but this one is a waste of time as well as money. Nobody seems to care except one instructor, they rest just there getting paid. I have contacted a lawyer because I refuse to be treated badly and paid the other half of my tuition out of pocket. I wish I would have never went to this school, and listened to the reviews I read the first week of class. So maybe I could help someone else out here interested in this school, DO NOT DO IT PLEASE or you will end up like me or better yet not even pass your test due to the lack of training they give you. I also have all documentation to support everything I am saying, I even called corporate and left a message. I will not stop until I get fair treatment and I know I am not the first or last person they will do this too, so please be careful or take your money and time where it is appreciated.

I now enjoy a much happier life thanks to SAGE after slaving away for almost 3 decades in various factories. If you're thinking about a career in trucking then this is a great place to start! I have never regretted it. The one on one driving training can not be beat. It's the only way to go.

Experiencia negativa: Sage is 1 of the worse schools to attend.Instructors quit left and right. The program is rushed and not good scheduling. Lord forbid you fail your first test after that you really just out of luck. This school is money hungry and it seems to be they dont care about the students they just care for the money. Trust me when I say this this school is terrible I recommend going to another school because it gets worse from here.

Experiencia fantástica: I'm happy that I got the license. AJ, Marion, and Ben were great instructors. I was able to go over my pretrip and the test wasn't difficult. All 3 in my class passed.

Experiencia fantástica: It was the best experience in my life. It was nerve wrenching in the beginning but the instructors calmed them with there patience and knowledge. I can’t even begin to tell about the new Director Tara. She stayed in contact for 5 years. Talk about persistent. They couldn’t have chosen a better director. Now I have a wonderful job and I have Sage to thank for that. Practice that pre trip and keep it between the lines ladies and gents.

Got to the DMV for My test and the truck failed now I have to wait another 3 weeks for my next appointment. That puts me at 3 months with this school and no license. Called the corporate office and the vice president could Care less. They just dont care.

Experiencia negativa: Terrible school, they don’t have patience for the weak .I started the school in 2016. I was struggling through the truck driving and the Parrell parking. Later through the time I got better driving the truck but I just could not parrell park at all. After three time you fail the test u have to pay a 100 dollar for the truck every time it get dropped off. I took the test 8 time so I ended paying 500 dollars for truck service at the dmv. On my 8 test I ended passing the parrell parking because of the YouTube video I watch which shows you how to do it in lock and lock position which they would not teach you in this school. So I did my first road test and I failed because I hit a curve. I told the director of school , I wanted to pay for the truck again and he told me you are not getting this truck and I told him, I will call your supervisor then and he said this is my school I run this here and he escorted me out in front of everybody. I reported him to cooperation and they supported his decision. I was told that he should had not even gave me that many chances. I would not recommend nobody spending money at this school. They are very unprofessional including the cooperation too.

Experiencia fantástica: I just finished the program here and passed my CDL-A at the SCDMV on the first try. If you are prepared to put in the effort, Sage will provide you with everything you need to be successful. The instructors here are great - Mark, Andy, Steve, Susie and Ronnie (who is also the school's director) - are all highly experienced drivers and instructors and you can learn something unique from each one. Pay attention to them! They know what they're doing! The admin staff - Joey and Tara - are efficient and organized (not to mention warm and friendly). Enroll at Sage, bring your "A game", and get your CDL.

Experiencia negativa: Went to this school for opportunity in the trucking industry. This school did not help me one bit. I took out a loan from Climb Student Loans and since the organization supported the school I spent $6500 instead of the $4500 that the school charges. I spent 1 whole week watching videos with instructor Mar, who was a good instructor. The second week we focused on driving, skills and pretrip. The one I needed the most help on was skills, but they did little to help me. I went and took the test and failed because of the lack of training I needed. My suggestion is to not come to this school all you are is a dollar sign and they want to take your money and they will not help you. Except for the two ladies in the front office.

Experiencia negativa: Some of the things that the classroom instructor said were off in left field and some a bit racist. The trucks were in terrible condition and had no seat belts in the back as required by law. The corporation that runs this place will be shutting it down or finally investing some money in maintenance when the new requirements for CDL schools come out.

Experiencia negativa: I would not recommend Sage to anyone. A complete waste of your time and money. The owner has no morals or hopes to help his students get a license. The attitude is poor. I strongly suggest the company rethink, why the open a school in the first place. Because clearly they have no intention on striving for the best.

Experiencia fantástica: I attended Sage and passed my CDL exam on the 1st attempt. I enjoyed my time there and learned much. If you are serious about getting into trucking these instructors definitely have the knowledge to get you there. Andy was excellent at letting me figure out how to shift without making me feel overly nervous and Susie kept me on my toes with the off tracking and stopping before I crossed the white lines. And even though I never got to drive with Steve, I rode with other students who drove with him and learned so much; he even got me to change shoes to make learning to double clutch easier...AND IT WORKED! Mark is an entertaining classroom instructor with a million and one stories to tell...some are even good! Tara and Joey are the office ladies and made me feel right at home. They knew my wife was home in the Philippines and sent me home with all the leftover food from the recruiters! And even the head honcho, Ronnie, was available to encourage and instruct. I had a fantastic experience there and will miss everyone I met.

Some scheduled twice a week (retaining nothing) some every day (this is not including pt students) Wish I didn't go with the quick pick and looked around (Wasted my grant on them)
