Experiencia negativa: Was not the best experience for me. Doug wasn’t a great drivers Ed teacher at all. Majority of the time he was on his phone and vaping. I’m a beginner driver and he wasn’t great at all with communicating with me on stuff I need to improve on. It just seemed like he was more in it for the money not actually wanting to teach me to be a better driver. I had questions for him with my hand over hand technique all he said was “I’ll get better at it” didn’t explain any techniques. I was extremely scared to merge on the highway I brought it up to him while he was on the phone and all he did was point to where I need it to go. While I was driving I would ask him questions and he wouldn’t really respond because he was on the phone. Wasn’t throughly with me at all. I’d say my experience was 1 out of 5.

Experiencia negativa: BEWARE!!!!! This school is unable to adequately and efficiently get students scheduled for behind the wheel instruction. It takes a minimum of 6 weeks to schedule for each behind the wheel. Which forces many customers to schedule behind the wheel after the contract expiration date. Which means that you the customer will be paying an additional $50 late fee when your student takes their behind the wheel anytime after the contract expiration date. The think I believe is not fair is that the school should be taking steps to increase their driver instructors, thus reducing the 6 week lead time to schedule the behind the wheel. But instead they are making more money by collecting late fees from customers. The up front costs may seem lower than other schools but in the end it adds up significantly. For us they charged $10 fuel charge for each session, plus the $50 late fee. When I pressed them about the late fee they did reduce the fee some but not enough in my opinion given the situation. We were trying to schedule between whether events and so on which made it very difficult to get in. We have learned that a school in Andover, MN does not charge late fees or fuel charges. Their upfront cost covers everything. We also have had other issues with this school that is turning us off from sending our other two kids here. Just beware as we have learned the hard way.

My daughter did the online version of the program and when we went to deliver all of her work/ notes etc., the individual at the physical location bit our heads off as we walked in and were rudely informed, we needed to come back at a certain time. My daughters first behind the wheel lesson, the instructor left her in the car to run into Walmart to buy some reader glasses for another individual for about 10 minutes and then again for an additional 25 minutes while dropping off to said individual. She is on Life360, so I was able to watch and follow her location at all times, watch her speed and see how long she was sitting in one location for. During this lesson they were Vaping (who does this?!) in the car with her, and she felt uncomfortable saying anything to them. (Yes, I did try to get her into a different program but unfortunately, I was not able to afford the additional expense). Her second appointment for behind the wheel was no showed by the driving instructor, resulting in us having to reschedule her exam at the DMV. Yes, they did make attempts to get her in on cancellations, but in doing this, they were reaching out to other students and asked them to reschedule their sessions (leaving us feeling very bad for the other students) rather than spending an extra two hours to get her second session in on their time since they were the ones who no showed. On the third and final behind the wheel lesson, the instructor was not aware that it was her third and final lesson as it was listed only as her second session. Due to this, there was zero parking / parallel parking practice aside from the 10 minutes in her first session. During her last two sessions, the instructor kept yelling at her and was generally unfriendly the entire time which made her even more nervous. Poor organization within the program and very poor behind the wheel experience overall would not recommend.

Experiencia negativa: Behind the wheel is booked out many months and they only let you schedule one at a time. Two of the times we had one scheduled and they canceled last minute. My son started the program a year ago in that year was only able to get one behind the wheel accomplished. We switched to another school to finish the last two and got both of them done in four weeks.

Experiencia negativa: Classroom was fine. Behind the wheel not so much. No flexibility. If your student has to cancel for any reason, including illness, it is impossible to get rescheduled. We had to schedule our daughter’s last behind the wheel through a different school because during a 5 week period they did not have one 2 hour opening on any day at any time, for her to complete it there.

Experiencia positiva: My daughter took her classroom online and we did Behind The Wheel with Doug. I was surprised by the fee for gas because I am sure it is written off as a business expense, but I handed him cash before each driving session anyway. The first session was fine. My daughter said during the second session she sat for several minutes while he talked to a trainee and was in another office. I might not have known except she was texting me during her session and I asked her how she could be texting and driving. On the third driving session, he texted less than an hour before the session to say he was running behind and could we start 15 minutes late. Sure, what choice do I have? We need the session and I'm already on my way, as we live over an hour away. Before they drove away at 11:20am, he told me he'd be back at 1:10. I called him at 1:20 and he said he just dropped my daughter off at the office, which, of course, is where I was waiting. After my gasp and minor heart attack, he remembered that she was still in the back seat. Really? He was still another 10 minutes away. I would not recommend this place. I did give three stars because we are done, nobody was injured or left behind, and I have no reason to pursue legal action, like other reviewers I have just read.

Experiencia fantástica: We just finished our 2nd son doing his classroom and behind the wheel. They did a great job! Our oldest did his drivers Ed through the school, and definitely didn’t have the same experience. He did all his behind the wheels in a 2 week period, with another kid in the car, versus spreading out the behind the wheel each time, and they were the only one driving.I think they got a lot more out of it!

Experiencia negativa: Took classroom instruction at Main Street Driving School. Afterwards, we called Doug seven times to schedule the behind the wheel time. He was impossible to get a hold of. He did not return his voicemails. Twice he answered and promised to call us back and never did. Now he is asking for us to pay a late fee for every lesson. He is also not willing to refund our money for the behind the wheel. Very disappointed!

Experiencia negativa: They give you a time frame to complete the behind the wheel sessions. If you don’t get them completed within that time frame, you pay a penalty fee. Here’s the catch: try scheduling the behind the wheel sessions. Call them. Leave several messages. Maybe you’ll get someone on the phone and he will say he can’t schedule right now because he isn’t at his desk. Once you do get a hold of someone to schedule, you’ll be surprised to find that they schedule 6 WEEKS out. So the lack of follow up from them coupled with scheduling the sessions at least 6 weeks apart magically puts you outside the timeframe in the contract and now you have to pay the penalty to finish the sessions. Dubious business practices. They should be ashamed of themselves. Don’t send your kids here.

Experiencia negativa: I've been wanting to get a behind the wheel and license test for about a month and was patient with everything for a while. I'm fine waiting the 6 weeks but I can't even sign up because I can't get a response in a email. It feels like I have double emailed him every time just to get a response. I'm tired of being patient it's been too long and although I would love to do my behind the wheel with them I can't bother waiting. The 6 weeks is already a lot but I was fine with that but I can't even get professional responses. This license means a lot to me and I want it a soon as possible but I'm now 4 months out from my birthday and I should have considered other places first cause now I'm extremely behind. If I got a response I'd gladly take down this review but so far my experience has been a waste of time. ):

Experiencia negativa: its been over 4 months and we are still waiting for the third driving class. now he took so long that he says our contract has expired so he wants another $150 bucks from me. I am considering sewing him but he all ready has a active judgment against him for $7593.02 so I don't know if I would collect if I won. he wanted me to take my kid out of school and do it during the day to avoid the long wait which I refused to do. here are some of the things on his contract: $1.00 late fee per minute for the classroom. a fuel charge based on gas prices.so gas is not included. contract expires after 9 months regardless of when the classroom is finished. policies may change at any time without notice there may be more than one student in vehicle.
