Driving School in Stamford, CT offering driver's ed classes, behind-the-wheel lessons, and license testing services for teens & adults.
Includes 30 hours of live Zoom class sessions & 8 hours of driving lessons. Going above & beyond the CT state minimum 8 hour drug & alcohol safety program requirement, this course offers unparalleled, comprehensive knowledge that equips new drivers with the mastery to navigate the roads safely & courteously with the added benefits of a shorter license wait time for teens & possible insurance discounts depending on the insurance provider. Classes may be taken in any order and additional driving lessons can be added at any time.
Our 8-hour safe driving course (aka 8-hour drug & alcohol safety course) fulfills the minimum driver education requirement for the state of CT. All classroom sessions are taught by a live instructor via Zoom. This course does not include any private driving lessons, but they can be purchased at any time. Classes are offered in one 8-hour day (adults only), two 4-hour days or four 2-hour days.
Driving lessons are done in 2-hour blocks and begin with the basics so that the instructor can develop a good understanding of each student’s experience, skill, knowledge and confidence. As lessons progress, the instructor will make sure that each core skill is learned before building upon it. Lessons will cover accelerating, braking, turning and parking maneuvers before graduating to lane choice, speed management, urban and rural driving, driving on hills, highway driving and mock road tests (if purchased).
Avoid the crowd & DMV headaches. Relax & test with us! Use our car, at our location, with a TNS test host on hand to answer any last-minute questions and calm nerves. We handle all of the paperwork ahead of time and the DMV agent comes to our location to evaluate students.

We offer license test appointments at our convenient locations across the State of Connecticut. Tests run every 15 minutes between 8am and 1pm. The available schedules listed here are not a guarantee of availability, sign up and login to the Student Portal to see live availability and book your license test appointments.

We are very sorry that our availability has been deeply affected by COVID-19. 3 years ago Experiencia fantástica: Next Street was the Best experience . Online classes was a very good experience even if it may seem boring . The teachers will make it really enjoyable. Also Having Victor as a driving instructor was the best experience i ever had as me as a first time driver. He has a bright enthusiasm and very kind. If you are feeling nervous, dont worry he will bring out the energy from you and make the ride very entertaining and enjoyable. I would highly recommend you to Victor. He promised me that he would help me not fail the test 100% and the results i have not failed I passed!! P.S he will get you a small treat during your break

4 years ago Experiencia negativa: I just saw one of your drivers almost kill a little girl crossing the street at a crosswalk near Scalzi park in Stamford around an hour ago.I have called as well. The girl was in the crosswalk with lights clearly illuminated. Instead of waiting in the 3-4 car line for the girl to cross the street, your driver decided to cut the line, and narrowly avoided hitting the small girl in the crosswalk. He had to slam on his brakes to keep from hitting her. The car was a white chevy sedan with a next street logo in the side. The number on the back was 15. This incident occurred around 5 pm January 4, 2022

After being put on the call back list multiple times over the past month, not once have I received a call back. Also after sending and e-mail and waiting over the 3-5 business days to receive a message back, I have still gotten nothing.

7 years ago Experiencia fantástica: I took the accelerated course and completed all 30 hours in two weeks. In that time I learned a ton of stuff in a very short amount of time. Both Dana and Donavon were great instructors for the classes.

7 years ago Experiencia positiva: Solid driving school. I took the two week accelerated course, and although a bit grueling, I genuinely enjoyed Donavan teaching. Driving can be a boring topic to just talk about, but Donavan gets everyone involved and makes it enjoyable. I had Al for my physical driving lessons, and couldn't have been more comfortable. He's a nice guy, gets you to learn the techniques without difficulty, and really gets you ready for your test. My one complaint would have to be the videos we were made to watch. They are painfully outdated, made in the 80s or 90s. If this gets fixed, easily a 5/5 driving school.

He has lot of talent and is highly aware about the road. All teachers i have had are good. Can’t wait to begin behind the wheel lessons soon. Highly highly recommend The Next Street.

7 years ago Experiencia positiva: I did the 8 hour safe driving class and it was really good and informative the only problem with the classes was that I didn’t get an email what time the classes were. One way 11-3pm and the other one was 9-1pm. I did not receive an email what time It started nor the location until a few days AFTER the second class. For starters I went to my first class and I thought it was the 9am and it was the 11am. I went all the way over there for nothing. Other than that it was very good class.

Al Cirigliano is a great instructor and goes in depth with everything he teaches and answers any questions you may have. 8 years ago Experiencia negativa: I never recommend this school, they supposed to give us the certificate the same day and I'm still waiting after 3 weeks and now they want me to charge $13 to send me overnight cause they don't know what happened, bad service, really mad at this

9 years ago Experiencia fantástica: The next street taught me a ton of stuff I didn't know about the road. Bob was a great instructor and made the class fun and entertaining. I would reccomend the 30 hour driving school to any 16 year old ready to get their license.

9 years ago Experiencia fantástica: The Next Street helped me a lot and enhance my knowledge of driving and being aware of all my surrounding on the road. My instructor Bob was great and made the classes interesting and fun. It's definitely worth the money!
