If you’re not sure what is needed of you from the DMV road test or if you feel unsure of your driving skills, Rivers’s Auto Driving School is a great place to learn what you need. Experiencia negativa: Everything was wrong from not teaching me 3 point turn and parallel parking until I had 2 lessons left, meaning I had to learn on my own. The driver is always yapping instead of actually doing his job. It’s hard to get a hold of them on the line. This driving school did not prepare me for my road test.

No one answers phone calls and slow text backs. The instructor here is sus and talks like a female. Wouldn’t advise anyone to go here looking to get their license.

Experiencia negativa: I bought a full package with this company, I only did 2 driving classes and had to ask for a refund. Everyone that I’ve encountered in the office was nice expect for the driving instructor. The service that he provides is horrible. You would believe that you’re begging him to teach you how to drive or taking the courses for free. I don’t know what his problem is, but I hope he finds happiness within himself one day.

Experiencia negativa: The wait time for you to receive your 5 hour class certificate is crazy. I took my class on 7/10/2021 and I still haven't received it yet. Then when I call in the afternoon the female that answers the phone is soooo rude. She was no help at all. Please go somewhere else. Then when I go to the location she was sleeping at the front desk . Please save your money and go elsewhere.

Experiencia negativa: This is the worst driving school ever. The customers service sucks. When I called the young lady that picked up kept screaming in my ears and slammed the call on me. I called back and she didn’t pick up till the 4th time. The older lady that picked also is so rude. I will advise no one to waste money to go there. Very rude and unprofessional people.

Experiencia fantástica: Hi, wondering if this driving school is for you? Well it is they were very professional, helpful and organized and patient . My instructor was Michael. He was absolutely great and very helpful he understood my fears and helped me get over them. I purchased a package which included everything I needed. My appointments were scheduled to my schedule with no problem and no wait. Let’s fast forward to Road test day..... I was nervous and Michael spoke to me with words of encouragement all the way to the site and to my surprise 10mins later I became a driver. I couldnt Believe it. Thank you Michael and Rivera’s Auto driving school for instructing me on getting my license before my permit expired. Don’t hesitate call and ask question you will not be disappointed.

I began my lessons in August and have my license in October. Rivera’s meets you where you, from picking you up at your door and dropping you back home for lessons, to affordable prices for lessons, 5 hour course and the 6 hour cours; I’m glad I went with Rivera’s for my lessons and I would recommend that everyone give them a try you won’t regret it!

Experiencia fantástica: I just got my license today!! I have to say, taking lessons with Chris gave me the confidence to believe that I can drive! My friend refered this location after I failed my road test for a second time and from the first lesson I knew it was a perfect fit. Unlike most schools, the lessons aren’t given in any particular location. You have to become comfortable driving anywhere, on any road; making all sorts of turns and decisions that can become something you memorize if you’re driving on the same four/five roads. I got practice pullig up to driveways, gas stations, driving in areas with construction - all throughout different neighborhoods in the Bronx. I took two road tests with another school in Brooklyn and did not recieve the best instruction that truly built my confidence in my abilty to drive in conditions more unpredictable than on the road test/on their practice roads. I took the first package (300$, 6 lessons) and paid for an addition lesson right before the test that helped a lot. Chris corrected me in a way that was effective, encouraged me in a way that was supportive and I truly couldn’t ask for a better instructor. I’ll be singing praises for Rivera’s for a long time, and my sister is starting her lessons next week! If you failed in the past, Rivera’s is the place to go. If you have no experience whatsoever, go to Rivera’s. If you’ve driven for years and need a refresher, go to Rivera’s! They are very patient and truly amazing. Thank you so much!

Experiencia fantástica: I went, got the 10 courses and passed on the first try today. They really teach you what you need to know. And if there’s anything you have concerns about and would like to address (for instance I was afraid to parallel park) they will help you figure it out. Michael and Chris are very nice people I will start by saying that. I drove mostly with Michael but also Chris, I never had any issues with them and they are very clear about what you need to do during the lessons. I like that they talk to you while driving so it’s not awkward and intimidating, it’s a natural setting because more than likely once you do start driving you will have other people in your car and will need to naturally know how to handle that environment. They also won’t lie to you and tell you that you’re ready before you are to take the test (but I guess that also depends on how confident you are too) and if you are doing good they let you know. I’ve tried other places but it always felt super rushed or like I was walking away from the lessons with less than I started with. My advice is to just be consistent with the lessons on a weekly basis and you should be good in no time. I parallel park like a pro and that was my most concern. Go there and see for yourself or call, just give them a try you won’t regret it. They are very accommodating and communicative, just make sure to double check your appointment on the day of a few hours before the time scheduled. I find that it’s best as there is may be a lot going on sometimes and we are all humans so even if it slipped them (which doesn’t happen much) they will make time for you later on or you know if you want to cancel your appointment that would be the appropriate curtesy to give, a few hours warning. Overall, I had a 5 star experience and have recommended more people to Rivera’s Driving School, they really are the best even before they got them comfy new whips in that’ll keep you warm in the winter and cool in the summer. Yahll are lucky to have Michael and Chris because they really care.

Experiencia negativa: Not worth $40 an hour. Micheal took me once & did not complete the whole hour , Chris said I drive like a Jamaican , ( I am Jamaican) so what are you saying ? Booked my road test , kept asking them to tell me when is it so I can get more lessons in. I was ignored & then texted a day before my road test that I need to have $50 & that my road test is tomorrow. That's not how you run a business. Very Unorganized .. you guys talk to much about other people , worry about yourself. Chris needs to buy air fresheners for her car to because it always smells like cigarettes.

Experiencia negativa: Very uncomfortable experience, Michael my instructor needs to learn and understand the psychology of teaching. He took questions as an insult, has a very nasty attitude, lacks patience and he's very antagonistic, doesn't know how to make students feel relaxed and comfortable. And I'm not even gonna go into all his negative remarks about Jamaicans on more than one occasion (which is pure ignorance and stupidity given that their school is in an are made of predominantly Jamaican people). I wouldn't recommend this school but to each his/her own.

I Goggle'd 'driving schools' and the very last one was able to take me. If not, I was going to have no car to my scheduled test.
