Experiencia fantástica: As a new teenage driver, I can confidently say that Mr. Glover is a fantastic teacher of the driving arts who makes going at 70 not very scary at all. The car is tuned for new drivers and handles very well. The routes you'll be taking usually don't have too many cars, so you can ease into it, and you only go into congested areas later on when you know the basics. Mr. Glover gives really nice and easy advice and is fun to talk to when you have a break from staying focused. All in all, I'd recommend Safe Lane to anybody needing to get their hours of driving in while also having a great teacher.

Experiencia fantástica: The absolute best experience with a driving school. The instructor/owner Mr. Glover was so patient, kind, helpful and thorough with his instructions. My son had barely driven prior to his lessons but confidently drove 70 mph on a highway just on the second day! We live 1 1/2 hours away but due to the long wait times for behind-the-wheel instruction in our county, we found Safe Lane and are so happy that we did. Mr. Glover also gave us very helpful information to prepare my sweet son for the DMV test, along with study materials. Also the car was very nice and high tech and looked cool Would definitely recommend even if it isn’t in your county!

The teacher was engaging and funny (we'd catch our older child listening in on his sibling's zoom class!). You definitely get what you pay for. Mr Glover even did a parent de-brief at the end of the driving time to make sure I knew exactly what to bring to the DMV. Drive times were promptly scheduled. Wonderful experience. (Trust all these 5 star reviews - they're not wrong.)

With the backlog due to COVID, my kid had been waiting for nearly 6 months just to complete the behind the wheel portion to obtain her permit. I reached out and signed her up and they contacted us within a few days to get her set up. The staff here are wonderful and they provided study guides and guidance for a nervous child and parent. Experiencia negativa: Terrible experience. I misplaced a certificate of eligibility for my son after he completed the driving program. I called to get another certificate of eligibility. Should be easy right? I mean it’s 2022, everything’s digital it’s literally sending the PDF to my email, but the guy that answered my call here said I needed to pay another $100 if I want another copy. Ummm what?!?! When asked what the $100 I’d actually for, again it’s just one email, he specifically said “well it’s gonna take me some time to find it”. So the $100 is for his time!??? This is not how you do business with anybody. I’ll be following up further with management. Again, my son already completed the program. I just needed a copy of the certificate so he could get his permit. This business is a scam save your money and go elsewhere.

They also helped us find an appointment with the DMV for the next day! We couldn't be happier with the entire process.

My son had completed the classroom hours of drivers ed in Hickory but was told it would be 6 months before he could complete the driving portion. Mr. Glover genuinely cared about our concerns and was able to get my son in to complete his 6 hours of driving within a few days of my phone call. My son learned so much during this time with Mr. Glover! I only wish we could have found him sooner. We will definitely recommend Safe Lane to anyone in need of a driving school!

Phillip called me back after I left a message and I was able to get in touch with the Kelley - the driving instructor for our area. Kelley and Phillip both worked with me to get the needed information from the County's driver education office so she could complete. He had him drive through intersections, ramps on and off highways, neighborhoods, all different kinds of maneuvers (backing up, 3 point turns) and learning all the road signs. Highly recommend him!

He taught him to drive in various settings and speeds, how to enter and exit the interstate, navigate intersections, roundabouts and park. When it's my next child's time to learn to drive Safe Lane and Mr. Glover will be our first choice.

Experiencia fantástica: I took my DZ course with Chris and prior to class I didnt know anything about an engine or airbreaks and I was very intimidated. Both the in class and in truck are very intense, I reccomend showing up early, doing the homework and study your books front to back. This will be the difference between an exciting learning day and the worst day of your life, dont show up to waste peers and instructors time, it's not tolerated. Chris is extremely knowledgeable about the engine and has a lot of experience, so take advantage, he is 100% the reason I passed my DZ with a smiling evaluator and actually had fun during my test. Would highly recommend to anyone looking to get their DZ.

Two of our four teens have taken driver’s ed through Safe Lane and they have a been more prepared to be behind the wheel than their siblings who took the traditional driving course.

Experiencia fantástica: Whether for yourself or a loved one, if you need an instructor this is the man. Moved to Shelby from NY/NJ, haven't driven in 30 years, had no need to. Is it like getting back on a bike? No it is Not. I had the common sense to get a driving instructor to guide me back behind the wheel. Philip Glover is a professional and knowledgeable instructor, he helped me remember the good habits and corrected the old bad ones. Not only covering the what to do, but the how's and why's in a clear way. Just as important in my case he imparted confidence. His ability to teach combined with his constant encouragement gave me faith in him and myself. For a few personal reasons getting behind the wheel again after such a long time was a real personal challenge for me. I have a licence now. Philip Glover went above and beyond to help. A good instructor, a good man.

If I had to leave a message, he called back promptly. After my son finished his 6 hours of driving, Phillip told us what he needed to spend more time practicing. The class size was small. My son felt comfortable and enjoyed learning in the classes. He told us that the class content was interesting. He also completed homework, so he was prepared for the upcoming classes and the final test. I would absolutely recommend Safe Lane.
