Experiencia fantástica: Got my nails done for my birthday, and brought my daughter along for the fun. We got matching holiday nails and LOVE them. Jules did my nails, and she's FANTASTIC. From start to end she was amazing and so fun. Alizandra painted my daughters nails, and again, she was fantastic also. She was able to combat wiggly fingers even with a design and she was very nice with my daughter. My daughter has already asked if we can go back and have them do our nails again soon, which will probably happen because I've never had so much fun getting my nails done before. Props to Jules and Alizandra who made my birthday and lil spa date with my mini me so much fun

Experiencia negativa: I do not recommend this school, after the encounter I experienced with the owner. I applied to the school in August or September of 2023 regarding the esthetics program. I had everything in order and "was all set to start in October"-- which was incorrect. The owner mentioned the esthetics program was starting in the New Year because construction was taking longer than anticipated. I asked about my 100$ application fee, and if I would need to apply for FASFA again-- She said no, the application fee will be held for the new year. Since it is the new year, I figured I would reach out to the school and was given unfortunate news. The owner mentioned I would have to pay a new 100$ application fee and it's something she has no control over. After I mentioned I would right a review regarding this situation she said, "I don't like starting relations this way-- I was going to offer an alternative solution but after threatening to right a negative review, like I said, I don't like starting relations this way"... NEWS FLASH, no one likes starting any kind of relations this way. Need I mention, the "alternative solution" was only mentioned after I said I was a going to right a review. Now I'm down 100$ (which the owner mentioned, there was nothing she could do about it) for an application fee, for a program that was not running until the January 2024. Super disappointed with this new School in Santa Fe, NM.

Experiencia positiva: Best price for a PMU (permanent cosmetics) course in new mexico: $2,700 for one area + $1,000 for additional areas. Other schools/trainers in New Mexico are charging up to $13,000 for the same thing. They also have you complete two+ supervised services start to finish, which is great to build confidence in cosmetic tattooing!

Experiencia positiva: I was disappointed when the screws fell out of the shampoo chair, it collapsed to the floor w/me in it. The student was going to shampoo my hair and ignore it. I picked up the screws as I got up off the floor. They made a report and comped the service apparently they think that's ENOUGH. No one bothered to call and check on me so I'm going to report this to the BBB and the NM Insurance Commissioner. So if you go be careful check the equipment because they certainly don't....

Experiencia negativa: Horrible experience. Currently attending rust leaking from nearly every room in the building. Any time it rains longer than 30minutes the school has to be closed due to leaking. Multiple teachers have quit mid semester for lack of proper equipment, coordination and (hearsay) lack of classroom funding for students, causing more classes to be jammed together not allowing senior students their one on one with the teachers needed. Teachers are now complaining of having too many students to keep track of. 20 students max to 1 teacher on saturdays may be 30 students may be under 1 teacher on Saturday’s. They constantly put their lack of planning on the students shoulders and completely blame us as “we are paying for the program”. Can not get in to see admin even after sending emails and having my case worker call the school. The breaking point is that this school is federally funded!

Experiencia negativa: NEVERRRR think about going to this "school" all what they want is to get $, they charge for everything, if you miss a day they charge, if you don't clock in they charge, if you don't make enough hours to graduate they charge you $250 plus when you miss and you send them excuse thru email they never answer you to have their excuse to charge you $25. It's a BIG MISTAKE get registered at this institution, I can't call it school.

From cuts to color, highlights lowlights facials the staff and students are always pleasant. They also have new staff, recruiters to assist with the daunting enrollment process and financial aid that will make it a breeze. I highly recommend Glitz. Student turned chair away from mirror during cut, I got side glance at her using comb and clippers on sides,THEN NOTICED SHE HAD SHAVED NAKED ABOVE EARS AND UP TO FOREHEAD....SINCE WHEN DO SIDEBURNS CUT 4" INSIDE HAIRLINE AND WHAT PART OF TRIM MEANS SHAVED. I'm 62 years old and had cut my hair myself forever. Sadly arthritis had me chance someone else. I WILL NEVER TRUST ANYONE AGAIN....BTW...WHAT COULD ANYONE DO TO MAKE THIS BETTER (free cut...FML)....IM THE ONLY ONE WHO HAS TO LOOK AT THIS DISASTER DAILY UNTIL GROW OUT...wish I could post pix

Experiencia fantástica: As a recent graduate of Glitz Cosmetology School, I must say I am very happy that I chose to attend this establishment. I drove from Alamogordo to Las Cruces everyday and the learning I received made it well worth it. Once the pandemic hit and the classes resumed via zoom, my instructors were very patient and offered me the time I needed in order for me to gain the skills I desired. The constant State Board practice sessions also gave me the confidence and knowledge I needed to pass both of my exams. I am thankful to Mary Ann and all of my instructors for the education, time and tools I received in order for me to be successful in my career.

Was even able to get a quick trim as he was getting his hair cut. Be sure to get the punch card, been coming over a year and just found out about it.

While I admire the community service the lack of communication for a regular customer just list them 2 customers. We've been using them for 3 years.

I went short on my hair for the first time in several years so I was a little nervous but Darak took his time and was attentive to detail and it came out way better than I even thought it would be! Then Nichole blew it dry and styled it and didn’t even charge me but made it look even more awesome!! I usually have a good experience but this was the best!! I can tell they both enjoy their job and we’re very friendly but professional. Thank you so much!!!

Experiencia positiva: I took my teens for cuts, one has fine, straight hair and the other has thick, curly hair. They did a really good job with my straight haired one. But they do not know how to handle curly hair! They used a brush and fine tooth comb on dry curls and didn't use any moisturizing products. When it was brought up to the instructor, she gave my kid a blank look and said "Okay?"

Experiencia negativa: To the owner of glitz I was a customer of yours yesterday and I had a really bad experience I went in for highlights and I ended up getting my whole head bleached. The bleach was left on my head from what's 3 hours. I am well aware that you have cameras there so I would love for you to review the time that I was there I was there from 10:30am to 5 p.m.My name is Rachel Silva and I can email you pictures of the results I even had to go back today and I got more processes done and it just damaged my hair even more. I can send you the pictures if you just give me your email address because I wasn't getting anywhere when it came to complaining or to talk me to management about what happened. When I asked to speak to the owner they directed me to a manager who said that they were unable to give me a refund even though the student was not being supervised. Not to mention that I paid $100 to get my hair done.I ended up leaving there today with the same exact hair color I went in withafter having to put a demi on my hair because my hair was so damaged!!

Would you have liked for me to have come in besides the fact that I couldn’t even get up out of bed without not being able to breath? Just shows just how much y’all care about your students health. I emailed everyday saying that I still was sick and MARIA emailed me back saying it’s okay, just feel better. So why lie to me if it really wasn’t okay? All you guys want is money money money. Experiencia positiva: I've been going to Glitz on and off for about four years. They have good prices and friendly technicians. I come from out of town to visit family and Glitz is the place I go for a little pampering. Honestly my only critique is that they need to work on their front desk and phone customer service. When I called to make an appointment, the individual who answered the phone did not thank me or ask me if I wanted to schedule additional appointments aside from my pedicure, manicure and brow wax. When. I arrived, the lady at the front desk was not very friendly and curtly told me I would need to wait. I was half an hour early, which I acknowledged. I did not expect to be take back right away. The young lady who did my nails was very friendly and made sure that I was happy with the job she did. She even had a instructor double check her work. The young lady who did my eye brows was also very good. When I paid, the same girl who checked me in tooky payment. She did not ask if I needed anything else or thank me for my business. When I paused, unsure if I needed to do anything, aside from sign the receipt, she curtly told me I could go. Long story short, front desk and phone manners could be improved upon. Otherwise, a good place to go if you want a nice mani-pedi for a economical price.

Either way, I'm a proud Glitz graduate! As with anything, you get out what you put in. No one is there to hold your hand but they are all there to guide you. The teachers are amazing and the owners MaryAnn & Oscar treat everyone like family. They're respectful and do all they can to support you through your time there. I still occasionally go back to visit because I enjoyed the environment so much while being there. If you're going to go in as a client and are scared, request a senior student. I don't regret the time I spent there cause they properly prepared me for my career! This is an amazing school and I would recommend it to anyone looking for a career in beauty.

Experiencia negativa: I got my eyebrows done and the lady took off a big chunk of one of my eyebrows. She said she felt bad and she tried to fix it by applying makeup on it. This was unbelievable and i came home later and cried due to the embarrassment I now have to face! (Edit) I got mine waxed.

Experiencia fantástica: Where do I start im a graduate student this people are amazing ( owners Oscar and Mary ann and her entired family) they really care about each of one of the people who come.to this school they really want the best for all of us the instructors are excellent people with amazing knowledge when in other schools they teach u the basic to pass the state board exam and if u want to learn more stuff u have to pay to get in that, this school is way beyond that each deparment has the best instructors they get training to teach more than just the required state board what ever u ask to learn they will teach u we practice every day "practice makes perfect" its not only theory its book and hands on which I think its amazing they prepare u to go to the real world we get business classes the owners are always around to check everything its ok we have cameras in the building because they r all about makes us feel secure its been people who took something that doesnt belong to them and the cameras help to keep the integrity of the place its awful to be in a place that u dont feel secure i was never black mail i was here a year in a half cause my time they work with u in every way to make u be successful out there i recommend 10000% this school and this people that work here they r humble and ready to get the best out of you the services are done by students and we r very on top of sanitation thats a main thing plus customer service u can get with the owners anytime they offer you support in any situation they take the time.to know u i love this people they make you part of their family you r not numbers for them my family and i are very grateful to be part of this legacy they are always thinking in how to invest to makes us have the best time in the school thinking of getting a day care for the ones who have kids and rooms for people that come from far to not have to be traveling back and forward we had many students that come from deming alamogordo silver city etc they r always thinking in our safety its like we r all their children so please come to get services here cause u will help all the students to perfectionate their skills come.to study here cause this will be your second home they offer financial aid and many more ways to help u succed when i start i got together with mary ann and she was so nice and at that time they still were not approved for financial aid and i received a scholarship that let me enrolled to the school now im a license cosmetologist thanks to the support of Mrs. Glitz and Mr. Glitz thank u so much

Experiencia negativa: Customer service is super rude especially from one of the instructors. Very unprepared and unprofessional, I went in to get my hair and make up done for a photoshoot and although I understand the students are in training I never expected them to be this bad! It was so bad I canceled my photoshoot. Sad thing is I usually go to Olympian where in my opinion they are taught better, they at least know how to give me beach wavy curls!!!

Experiencia positiva: I got my eyebrows tinted Friday (4/12/19) the girl was nice and the work was okay for being done by a student. I didn't like that not one instructor came and checked the work. So I guess they aren't being supervised by instructors. While I was getting my eyebrows done I could hear the other girls cussing, very unprofessional. **EDIT*** thank you for responding I wasn't aware Diana was an instructor. Yes I understand it gets crazy and appreciate Diana explaining the difference to me. I was also unaware about the way supervision works in your school so thank you for letting me know. I will be back again.

The person who did my nails took 3 hours on them started at 4 didn’t get out until 7:30pm also i still had to get my pedi done and the lady that did them was amazing but nail techs need better attitudes he was pulling my hand and was already frustrated and took it out on me!! I wasn’t satisfied with my nails at all!!!! ask if they could fix them the instructor told me there’s nothing that could be done! Practically blamed me for them coming out the way they did. And still had to pay full price on them!! NEVER GOING BACK AGAIN!

Good service, EXCEPT a couple weeks after my daughter's pedi, keep in mind we did not take the polish off at all we just let it come off on its own, her toe nail was turning yellow, assumed it was from the yellow nail polish she picked... a few more weeks later it started turning a darker yellow/tan color... couple weeks after that she started LOSING her toe nail from the back of the nail bed. This has never happened to me in my lifetime or my daughter so I had no idea why that was happenening. Turns out it's a fungus from dirty tools used on her feet! Now my daughter lost her whole toe nail because of it. I tried calling Glitz to let them know but no one ever answers the phone so I had no choice but to leave this comment. Glitz, you NEED to make sure the girls are disinfecting ALL tools! This was out first time there and now probably our last. I tried calling again after Mary Ann's reply. NO ANSWER! I can not go in anytime this week due to work then daughter's practice after. Even if you used clean and or NEW tools on my daughter her feet were still soaked in the sink, her nails were cut. Somehow a fungus got into her nail. I can not think of anywhere else she could have got it from. Also, there is a first time for everything. You have new students all the time, that same one hasn't been there for the lifetime of glitz. All I'm saying is to please make sure this doesn't happen again.
