Experiencia positiva: It was relatively easy to pass the Driver's Ed course and then, later on, the knowledge test. Having to scan all the documents and input all the information they were asking for before I was able to finally take the knowledge test online was frustrating and pretty time consuming, but all the directions they provided proved to be VERY helpful and generally pretty informative. (I'm so excited to finally get my permit!)

Experiencia positiva: I took this course and it is a great course for beginners. I would like to say however that the way they teach painted road lines is just a tad bit confusing. I was able to understand because my parents have been teaching me this stuff while they drive. Another thing that made me a tad bit skeptical was all the typos and spelling errors. Other than that I feel really prepared for my written test! Would definitely recommend!

Experiencia negativa: To quote the course directly: "Dehydrogenase converts alcohol molecules into acetaldehyde, an even more toxic molecule, which is then quickly converted into acetate and other molecules that are easily utilized by our cells. Thus, a potentially dangerous molecule is converted, through alcohol dehydrogenase, into a mere foodstuff." It is genuinely bizarre. One unit is spent entirely on the physics of stopping distance and includes sections on "Gravity", "Sir Isaac Newton", "Inertia and Energy", "Potential Energy", "Kinetic Energy", "Momentum", "Friction", and "Centrifugal & Centripetal Force". Another unit is spent entirely on the history of automobile manufacturing. In no sense is it necessary or even warranted to know the percent of Americans working in the automobile industries in the 1920s, but the course seems to disagree. It's all but a "Say No to Drugs" program, Introduction to Physics, Introduction to Organic Chemistry, History of Automobiles 101, Anatomy and Physiology, and Neuroscience and Psychology class rolled into one. The course spends shockingly little time on information which would actually prove useful on the written exam, such as signaling, turning procedures, designated regions of the road, right-of-way rules, and dealing with other vehicles (emergency vehicles, bicycles, motorcycles, and law enforcement). The end-of-section quizzes focus on unimportant facts, and there is no variety -- if you fail one and retake it, all five questions are exactly the same, which is an inadequate way of testing a student's comprehension. I would suggest the course to increase the question bank significantly, and draw from information which the DMV expects test-takers to know. I never leave Google reviews, but I feel so strongly about this course that I was inclined to write one. I'm not in favor of classes structured around tests, but it's necessary in this case. It's one thing to learn something thoroughly by investigating it in depth and with detail. I was horrifically underprepared for the exam. Instead, I would heavily recommend reading the California Driver's Handbook and taking practice tests available online. Not once during the exam did I recall information specifically from this course, or feel that I had benefited from taking it. Although it contains the essential information, it's presented poorly, summarized inefficiently, and buried under useless tangential details with little indication of what a student should actually be paying attention to. I think it would be a very bad use of a student's time to review every aspect of this course, and while contextualization can be important, it should occupy much less space and serve only to highlight relevant sections. At least one half of the course should be cut out or made more concise. It is in desperate need of streamlining and clarity.
