Experiencia positiva: Instructors are very knowledgeable and able to prep for CDL test. However, limited equipment and time on the road hamper learning about. Do not recommend to those who are not confident in learning quickly, or limited driving experience. Not impossible, but definitely an uphill battle for sure. If you are not daunted by this, or do not have time to waste, this is the place for you. Be prepared to look for the instructors around the school grounds, due to the fact that school has minimal staff, and most of the instructors pull double duty. Performing necessary maintenance around the campus to keep everything running. Again the staff there is capable and have any amount of talent, they will get you where you will pass the test.

Experiencia negativa: I was shocked on lack of instructors. They are forced to take off. Took my complaint to the director. We had a good talk but it was obviously not in his control on who he could put on the schedule. We had one instructor for 2 classes for a week. One point for a few hours it was one for 3 classes. While the instructors are their they have a passion for teaching and grateful for the short time they were there. I think i over paid and was under delivered. I was thanked by instructors for helping. What did i pay almost 8k for. I think the school is either about to close down or owners are money hungry. If i would have known it was going to be this bad i would have went to a different school. Many companies say they no longer higher from tdi due to the reputation they have accumulated in a short amount of time. Equipment... well they had one truck for the practice range majority of the time due to break downs. Most is outdated and breaking down. Three trucks went down while i was there. I took my test and Karen never showed to do my paperwork. She did not answer the directors calls nor text. She was supposed to over night my paperwork via FedEx. I still have yet to receive it. I had to call twice to get her to email me the information. This school does not offer the proper training for hazmat. I have to go to a different school or take online classes in order to obtain it. Most are happy they got their cdl and will say great place ect. I feel i got ripped off. They allow repeat/ recycle students into class which takes away from others and they are disruptive. Instructors are not allowed to handle the issues. You can see the frustration on all the staff members. It wouldnt surprise me if they all left and i wouldnt blame them. Beware this school will let you down. You get your cdl but you are not ready to be a driver when you leave here. Im glad we had great instruction for half a day by mr jb.. the rest of the week he wasnt allowed to work. If you have an opportunity for JB to teach you take it. Luckily he had me and a few others rocking it out. But our class was split from driving and range and they didnt get to work with him. Mr larry did all he could and was bouncing back and forth trying to help two classes. Its a shame the owners allow this to happen. I had Mr. Bobby as a driving instructor he is awesome and taught my group a lot. However he was forced as soon as we got our road time in to take off as well. Knowing now what i know i should have went to a different school. Please dont over look this review. Most are prompted by a text sent out by the school to rate it. Same as i however i have to be honest and not just write it was great. Only good thing that came from this school is i obtained by license. As much as i had to teach myself i think i need a refund. That will never happen. I would not recommend this school unless they made some changes like letting the director actually run the school the way it should be.

Experiencia negativa: I self withdrawn on day two of the program. Bellow is the reasons why. It was not explained during the tour, in email, or during day one of classes. That you would be solely responsible for teaching yourself during the in classroom portion of week 1. As well as preparing for your cdl permit. The school will only provide you with a study book. The instructor will give you answers for all the quizzes in the book given by the school. But none of the information was actually reviewed to make sure you have an understanding of the material. Giving you only two days to prepare on your own for you cdl permit after starting the program. You also have to pay for the permit exam out of pocket. As it is not included in your tuition. Most of the time on day one an instructor was not present in the classroom. Because he left to give students a road exam. When he was present in the classroom mostly personal stories were told. There is no syllabus for the class. So you will not have a clear understanding of the training curriculum outlined to refer to. When bringing up concerns the recruiter asked me to explain them so they can be addressed. However he became impatient with me. Cutting me off shortly without letting me fully explain the problems or concerns I had with the program. And was no longer receptive to my problems or being engaged in a two way conversation. The recruiter started becoming rude and condescending. He claimed when he walked into the class that the instructor was teaching. I replied that giving only the answers to a question is not teaching. It’s just giving you the answers to a question and expecting you to remember the answer. While not clarifying why that’s the proper answer. Or reviewing any of the material. About half the questions and answers the instructor gave were just read off as number one is A. Number two is C. Etc. He further went on to claim that I was sleeping for hours in class. Because they watch you on cameras. I stated I may have put my head down the last 2 hours of class due to a headache, but I was not asleep. The instructor was not in the class to actually teach any materials. And the chapters he wrote on the board which he left us to self review I had already finished. I can also be seen moving frequently so there is no amount of time they can accuse me of sleeping. That was just his way of trying to make me seem like I was in the wrong. After I brought up concerns with the program. I was then told to gather my belongings and to leave the school. The female recruiter Kelly is very friendly however. Call around and verify the curriculum and teaching methods of the school the you want to attend. They will answer how hands they are for cdl permit prep, how in class portion of the school is taught. Whether that portion is mainly self taught or the instructor will review the material. But only if those are questions you bring up. So be specific with your concerns so they may be answered. That is the best thing I learned from my short time at this school.

Experiencia negativa: Initially I left a good review after leaving and before receiving all my paperwork. I want to state that the instructors are great but that’s the only good thing to say. The owners force them to cut hours and take off. There was multiple days during my second week that we didn’t have an instructor and was forced to just practice on the range with no instruction. Owners seem to only care about money. The equipment was sub par mostly. The company won’t spend money to fix problems. Had to get paperwork fixed after leaving because they were using an outdated form that my job wouldn’t accept. I wouldn’t recommend unless major things change.

If you struggle with backing up trust me JB will have you backing up with ease. When he say “Let it walk” let it walk lol. The truck will go exactly where you want it to go. All the instructors are helpful. The whole staff is incredible. My recruiter Krista gave all the details before class and made sure I got into class when I was ready. Can’t say enough good things about this school. Special shout-out to Larry who helped me stay off the curbs

Experiencia negativa: Jeff Bell is very RUDE!!! The school does not inform future or present students of full requirements that will take place during your time in there school. They did not supply a rig with a manual transmission for students, (that chose to go that way)for the driving hours or for students to practice in. Truck Driver Institute are setting students up for failure!!!! Very Sad when their program cost $7000.00 plus with no restrictions. Also, one of the rigs they use for practice and driving hours DID NOT have air conditioning. All Jeff Bell could express to myself in conversation was that they were related by the federal government, well maybe the federal government should look a little harder into what kind of Institution they are truly operating. Please do your research and take all of your options in to consideration before you make a decision on picking a school for yourself!! This is school is very unprofessional!!!!

Experiencia negativa: If you all are driving the roads at least drive the speed limits! Your causing road hazards driving 20 mph under speed limits. If your trainee can't handle driving that big rig the speed limit then he is not road driving ready. Put him in a tractor with no trailer until he gets use to it.

Experiencia negativa: I was there in 2007 and the guy who runs the school is very rude. They discriminate against you if you have some age on you. They forced me to take my driving test before I was ready and had me in a rig with a large hole in the seat. It was like sitting in a bucket. They ripped me off and then told me to leave the school. Anyone who is thinking about going to this school beware of the kind of people they are. I got my CDL and drove for a number of years, no thanks to this so called school. I would only recommend this place to my worst enemies. I actually give them zero stars.

Experiencia fantástica: the program consists of three weeks. week one is classroom time. Enjoy it, because once that is over it'll be a challenge to overcome. week two consists of three days for the backing maneuvers, then two days for road driving. They do offer a choice of manual or automatic. week three is night driving (which is hell for ppl who hate waking up early) and two more days of backing. My best advice is to work with your classmates on the backing and communicate what works best for you. The staff is pretty cool. Ultimately, they all want you to succeed and learn the necessities to graduate the program. Hard work and believing in yourself will earn you that CDL though. Trust me.

I enjoyed my time there, all of the instructors I was involved with were outstanding, knowledgable and helpful. I enjoyed my time there! I also am being heavily pursued by multiple motor carriers wanting me to start orientation with them ASAP. I will receive more OTJ training with whoever's I decide to go with...deciding next week after researching each carrier intensely.
