A+ Driving School

Experiencia negativa: Poorly planned behind the wheel pick up resulted in a missed appointment AND had the nerve to charge for appointment reschedule. Communication said - Lakeville South High School pickup. No door information. Daughter at bottom door, driver at top door. Driver calls and says come to top level then proceeds to call text by the minute when my daughter cannot receive calls or texts in the school. She checks middle level and top level only to find the driver had left. Left my daughter at school without a ride home and required me to leave work to pick her up! Additionally, left mean voicemail on my wife's phone who was in appointments cleaning teeth while this all played out. Solution - Dictate a standard parking spot, communicate clearly, and show patience for paying students who want their licenses. Avoid this organization if you can at all help it.

Experiencia negativa: I mistakenly did drivers ed and BTW here, my driving instructors did not tell be about a rule where you have to be close to the curb on a right turn. Failed my first test. Finally got my license today though. Scheduling was also rough.

Experiencia negativa: I have had 3 boys go through A+ for their classes and Behind the Wheel, 2 of them went well. 3rd child set up an appointment for 10/17/24 10:00 am home pickup. This was his 1st BTW, received a call late evening that the appointment was being canceled and needed to reschedule, so rescheduled for 10/21 immediately after school at 2:45 pm. I asked school to let him out 10 minutes early for this day to ensure he was out when they showed up and would not be late. I got a message from my son at 3:05 pm asking if they were at our home to pick him up as they never showed to the school, which they were not at our home. I called the number for A+ and someone called back within minutes, stating that they had sent both myself and my son's phone a text the morning of 10/21/2024, which they hadn't sent either of us a message to cancel. We even got the reminder message at 11:16 am 10/21/2024 confirming his appointment for the afternoon. He again tried to tell me they sent us message, I again advised neither got a message, why would my son be waiting outside the school for someone from A+ and miss his bus if we had been notified. Stated how pathetic it is that they had pulled this now 2 times and within just days of each other. Had to scurry to find someone to pick him up to get him home, since they failed on their end. This has really changed my view of A+ Driving School, as they are not reliable and left my child stranded at the school and then tried to continue to make false claims that they sent a text when they did not. Also a more effective way to ensure that the party gets the notice of cancelation it shouldn't just be a text, it should definitely be a phone call to speak to someone.

Experiencia negativa: I took this class over 6 years ago and still remember how horrible it was. Middle of winter, below 0, and the heat was broken for the entirely of the course. The instructors teaching skills were very weak.

Experiencia negativa: Disclosure, I have not been directly taught, nor have my kids been taught by anyone at the school. However, based on the driving that I saw one of the instructors perform this afternoon—cutting me off, turning without their right of way, erratically veering across center and shoulder lines, I wouldn’t expect that students of this school would learn how to be very capable, or effective drivers. Drive by example.

Experiencia negativa: Classroom: Simley Inver Grove Heights. The teacher Ann Flood was HORRIBLE! She was late EVERY SINGLE DAY, the 1st day my daughter thought she was a Substitute because she was late and acted like she didnt know what to do. She only read from the slideshow, anybody can do that for the amount of money i spent on this class is ridiculous. Let me go on, she has us parents drop the kids off at another school to find out she was wrong and had to go back to Simley! We WORK how was my child supposed to get back to Simley? Thankfully she found a ride from a classmate. I heard the other kids were pretty upset,wonder why, they were stuck there! To top it off the last day shes over half hour late! Another person on this review page said the same thing the teachers end a whole hour to half hour early. My daughter said she did NOT learn anything from the teacher and just taught herself. I paid over $300 for my child to teach herself. The “Validity” is the teacher signed her name of each card as Ann Flood so……

Experiencia negativa: Impossible to get ahold of anyone and once I finally did they were extremely rude. They used their horrible ability to answer their phones to cheat me out of my daughters behind the wheel lessons that I had paid for.

Experiencia fantástica: I would recommend this driving school to everyone. They did an awesome job with my son. They are very courteous and they strengthened my sons knowledge of driving and his road skills. Thanks to everyone there.

Experiencia negativa: I have paid for services up front for all 3 sessions. This company for a while had no availability to schedule anything. Now there is end of November and we are not able to schedule more than one time. I have called with no response, email is slightly responsive. Go outside sources if you have someone who needs to get their driving instruction done.

Experiencia negativa: Terrible. Drivers would randomly cancel appointments, though actual class was quite nice. Calling was awful, they were confusing and rude.

Experiencia negativa: The teacher my son had was very rude and disrespectful towards me. He raised his voice and yelled at me for walking into the business to pick up my sons blue card. I felt very threatened by him. This is after I talked to the main office and they told me what time I should stop in. Many days during online classroom instruction he was done teaching an hour early. Would inform students to stay logged in until a certain time and then they could log out. With the virtual classroom there was no way for my son to ask questions. If I had to do it all over again I would not choose this company. Not worth the price you pay for classroom instruction. Their website is not easy to navigate at all or register for classes.

A+ was VERY helpful getting his 3 behind the wheel classes scheduled in a short period of time before his scheduled driving test. Can't thank them enough! Several other driving schools wouldn't take outside students or had waits of 3+ months. The instructors were all polite and professional. Good communication.

Experiencia fantástica: Surprised to see complaints about getting in, although that looks like it was during the throws of the pandemic. I was able to schedule easily and timely. Had friends that went with other schools and it took . months to schedule I was able to get in within a couple of weeks for each of my lessons. Could not recommend this company more. Dan the Man is the best!

The only complaint I have is the lady that answers the phone and emails is a total A Hole that NEEDS to be fired. Other than that we have been happy with A+ driving school with both of our kids. Experiencia negativa: Website regularly crashes. Behind the wheel appointments are currently 3 months out at some locations and none available for the next 12 months at other locations. May be tough to schedule 3 BTW appointments in the next year.

Experiencia fantástica: The online class during COVID-19 has been easy to access and wonderfully taught. This was a great opportunity for my daughter who is otherwise super busy with dance.

Experiencia positiva: I’m quite jealous of the people who‘re talking about this “Dan” guy in the reviews. I didn’t have dan, can’t remember my instructors name, but the class was pretty boring. Honestly, the enthusiasm and engagement of your instructor seems like it can make or break the experience- make sure you get a good one! Otherwise, I obtained the material well and learned a bunch regarding driving safely.

Experiencia negativa: We had called A+ to ask some questions regarding my upcoming road test. The lady at the office said that backup cameras are not allowed on the test. We had also asked if I could adjust my parking Incase I was going to hit the cones. She said it depended on the instructor. We had called up to the DMV to ask about the backup camera to confirm what A+ had said. The lady read it right out of the drivers manual that backup cameras are allowed on the test as long as you use other forms of observation. During my road test a few days ago, I asked my examiner if I could adjust my parking and he told me he would highly recommend it and that he didn’t know where the rumor started that you can’t adjust, because they (the DMV) never said that. I was also able to use the backup camera. For those wondering, if you need to adjust, your instructor may deduct points (mine did), however I did everything else perfect and passed my first try. Not to mention A+ cancelled 2 of my behind the wheel lessons, one of them 10 minutes before my scheduled appointment. The instructors teach parking differently so you could have one instructor teach you one way and then another one might teach you another, which may confuse some students. I’m giving 2 stars because I learned some things, but they should have more knowledge of what the rules are for the road test, and if they are unsure of the laws, they should call the state so they can give students the correct information.

Experiencia positiva: Seems to be night and day experience. Go during the day not at night. Night class instructor didn't even show up sometimes. Got our money back and went to 1st in Burnsville. That worked well. 3pm seems like it works fine for people we know. That was not an option for us. Gave them another try. Went in afternoon with our second son. All was well. Moved up from 1 star to 4. Leaky roof was the only issue we had the second go round. Instructer likes Karate Kid movie and not a fan of kids on cell phones...which sounds alright by me.

Experiencia negativa: The course itself wasnt terrible, but I have been trying to schedule behind the wheel lessons and they have messed up 3 times now. From not even putting me on the schedule, to sending the driver to the wrong house, they also have given me the wrong time for when the lesson was supposed to take place. This has me quite upset because I only have a few more months until my permit expires and I have been trying to get my license for the past year.

Experiencia positiva: The teacher made the class somewhat entertaining, the slideshows were informative... but even the somewhat entertaining teacher couldn’t save the boring presentation, making it easy for a student’s mind to wander.

Experiencia negativa: My Teen took the required 3 lessons from this place and they never showed him how to parallel park nor 90 degree back parking. When I called them to see if I can book a lesson for parking only they said they don't teach parking they only teach people how to drive. Parking is up to the parents to teach them. Unbelievable!!!! They couldn't even recommend a place that's set up with cones for parking practice. Also one of the lessons got cancelled last minute because the tire blew up on the way to our house. Just imagine if that would have happened while my teen was driving. On the 3rd lesson they returned 30min early I guess it had too much snow on the roads and they were not plowed yet and the guy came with a front wheel drive car on a day full of ice and snow

Experiencia negativa: My story with A+ driving school starts in March 2018.I signed my mother up for driving classes. She had only taken two of the six classes that I’d paid for. To book the classes was nearly impossible as they made the communication process extremely difficult. After trying multiple times to book the classes and multiple failed attempts due to the A+ driving staff I tried to receive my money back. The A+ driving staff refused to give me my full amount that I had paid. I do not recommend anyone to sign up for driving classes through with this school.
