Experiencia fantástica: Great people, great training. Staff was supportive, helpful, and very friendly. I learned a lot about job opportunities from my instructors and classmates. As well as some of the "in's and outs" of the commercial driving industry. Classes were only three weeks, which was more than enough time to learn what I needed to in order to get my CDL. Recruters from top companies come through and have talks about why their company would be great for new drivers and the training they offer to get you started on your way into a new career. I had a really great experience. Well worth the money. Thanks again to all the staff at the location in East Milton.

Experiencia fantástica: My experience with TDI was on point! Excellent classroom training with instructor Gary who has a wealth of knowledge and information needed to pass the permit test. Then the on hand training in the trucks on the range with Chris and Rick was very helpful in learning the maneuvering techniques and backing up properly. The in-truck on the road training with John and Lance was a huge advantage in learning the “how-to’s” of driving on the interstate and in the city. Everyone were very friendly and helpful, I’ve loved every minute of it! Thanks TDI!!!

Mrs. Tracy in the admin/enrollment office made NUMEROUS calls to help me find a school that would allow me take my passenger endorsement test because that is something they no longer do here at TDI. I was very grateful of her willingness to get a YES answer (she would not give up, even after maybe 10 calls) When one of the schools gave her an answer that didn’t sound too right, she got ahold of the right person who gave her the correct answer and that really meant a lot to me. The instructors, as well as the office staff go above and beyond to make sure you are taken care of personally. There is an abundance of knowledge in this school and it definitely shows!!

Experiencia fantástica: TDI is a quick and solid way to aquire your CDL. Three weeks / 154 training hours later you'll be in position to take your walk around inspection, maneuvers and road test. From the classroom work, backing/alley dock and driving a semi through town and on the interstate, the instructors are helpful during this process. The office staff is knowledgeable and helpful for all of the DOT requirements and financial questions that come up during your training. The other advantage to TDI is you can choose what company to work for without having to sign a 1 or 2 year contract if they trained you. I recommend TDI for new drivers and drivers like myself that already had their CDL, but I had to re-certify it because it had been 17 years since the last time I had been behind the wheel of a truck. Your options are endless for all of the different jobs you can do with your CDL. So give Johnny Meads a call and he'll help get you enrolled in TDI's training program. Experiencia fantástica: I enjoyed my time at this school. This is a little long, but it is an honest review of the school. You will get out of it what you put into it. Just like everyrhing else in life. I've noticed some negative reviews about the school. Is it pricy? If you look at it that way, anything is. I've seen people complain about not having their hand held at every stage. What are you doing in the real world when people don't hold your hand? People need to think about the fact that a job is going to want you to be able to be self reliant. Do people think that going over the road is going to just be a frolic through the open roads and field of spring flowers? That being said... The staff is great, not all of the instructors are for everyone. Gary has knowledge and experience witb stories for each example in the class. Rick and I didn't really get on well. Not bad, he was a great teacher, just not my style. Hunter is young. Chris is another young instructor, and comes from a teaching background, so different from hunter. But both expect adults to be adults and I NEVER saw anyone of them deny helping a student when they admitted they had a problem getting something. Yes, the school's equipment is old, but it runs competently. Those complaining about the trucks, I wish I could see your faces when you getto the fleet and realize they are All broken. Current job has a 2023 model on its 3rd month in the shop.

Experiencia negativa: If you need to get your CDL quick and have driven a truck before or you have knowledge about trucks, then this is the school for you. If you have the extra time and need more hands on and want to save money, then go to Pensacola State College and do the course there that is cheaper and a little bit longer. TDI is not worth the 7grand for the amount of instruction you get and drive time. Mr. Garry the classroom instructor is awesome and will teach you everything you need to know for your Permit test and he rules of the road. The trucks are trashed and they don’t have enough, especially on the range. Bring a lot of water if you are doing it in the summer time, you will be waiting hours on the range sometimes in the heat for a turn at practicing backing maneuvers. Majority of the instructors play on the phone and pencil whip the books.

Experiencia positiva: Recent graduate as of July 2023, received my Class A license. HONEST REVIEW! The course is 3 weeks but very pricey at $7k, you will test out on a day in the 4th week. The school’s administration team is good & helps you sort out any issue related in their department. Thanks to my recruit Mr. Mead & the financial advisor Mrs. Tracy. However, the biggest issue in the school is the instructor & equipment condition. The condition of the trucks are maintained but not the best, they aren’t cleaned at all so being that we’ve just went through a bad pandemic you’d expect the school to be well maintained as well the equipment being that there are new students every Monday. Your first week which is in class with the instructor Mr. Gary, absolutely great teacher. You will study & obtain your permit as well as take your drug screen & setting up your FMSCA Clearinghouse account. 2nd & 3rd weeks is completely on the range & road. The instructor for the range however is a very young guy aged 25 by the name of Hunter, he doesn’t really properly does his job at all whatsoever, to be paying $7000 for a 3 week course you’d expect to get the best teaching ever, he sits in his chair under the gazebo on the range on his phone 24/7 & talks about his personal life & personal accomplishments the entire time while watching students struggle because he wants you to say something to him instead of him doing what he’s paid to do. He’s supposed to teach you the pre-trip of the truck but he goes over it literally once each section & expects you to learn from his study guide that he makes for you himself & tells you to make a copy of, also so be mindful of what kind of relationship you build with him because he has a very close relationship with one of the state inspector by the name of John Moon that tests you out for the actual licensure which could gravely cost you due to their personal relationship. Rick is the best road instructor whether you are a manual or automatic student he will make sure you have your in-cab inspection down to the point you will need to pass it. Lance is a pretty good instructor as well. As a class just prepare to help & motivate each other on the range because you won’t receive much help from Hunter at all.

Experiencia negativa: Website shows they have outside testing. Called in to schedule and get pricing, as I have a permit, my company has trucks, or I’m happy to use their trucks. I was told there is no 3rd party testing at the Milton site, I asked if there was anywhere that would allow 3party testing, they said no…….. Good luck forking over the funds or asking a company to pay for you to go to a school as well as their tuition. Regardless if you can drive a truck or not. This will add to the list of things to do to become and owner operator as well.

Experiencia fantástica: So much to say about this institute. I had a wonderful experience. The instructors are tough, but understandably so. There is a lot involved with operating a CMV. So much more than the average person realizes. This facility has a strict 3 week program to obtain your CDL but if you come in, hustle, study, work hard and stay focused… you will get through it with no problems. These instructors put up with alot, and they have a tough job. Rain, cold, hot… they are there, for us! Marc, the range instructor, has a unique personality but it’s just what this place needs! He has a divine talent in teaching backing maneuvers and keeps the details simple. TDI, you really have an asset in this guy! Gary was the absolute best classroom instructor. He gave us real life stories, courtesy of his own experiences, to give us true perspective. & Kelly was tough and intimidating at first but he has to be. I have an appreciation for his callus and his toughness. I’m so grateful for this experience and this institute. The money you spend is worth it. And honestly, it’s necessary. This is a business and keeping these rigs running is a hefty expense in itself.

Experiencia positiva: I went to TDI to obtain my Class A CDL and it was a good experience. First week was spent in the classroom working on obtaining a permit. Second and third week were spent in the backing yard and on the road, driving. Complete transparency here, it was an emotional 3 week course as far as making sure you’re ready to test and to be a safe and comfortable driver. The driving instructors are great men and I really enjoyed working with them. Felt like a very personal experience after working with them day in and out. I felt as though I butted heads with the range instructor for most of the entire program trying to figure out these backing techniques and didn’t think he was very helpful at all during trying to get thru it. It took me a week to realize I was better off just trying to follow my own instinct on how I’d successfully do it. There was a lack of trucks in the backing yard as well, by the last week of my training we were down to two operational trucks and about 20 people we had to share them with. So it was tough getting practice and you had to really make it count. I still recommend the experience I had at tdi looking past the backing yard issues, cause all the great friends I made and what I learned really counts. Pros : Great driving instructors, real honest men that try their best to give you quality instruction. Good classroom teaching, nice location. Cons : bad range instructor & no trucks Also thanks to Johnny meads. Awesome recruiter!

Experiencia fantástica: I was attending TDI in Sanford Florida. Third week I failed pre trip inspection. Second test date I passed pretrip but failed Alley Dock. Third test I failed Alley Dock. I was feeling like a failure. My TDI recruiter called me Friday evening to give me and three other ladies an opportunity to attend their sister TDI school in Milton florida for four days. Day one Mr Kelley showed me their method of Alley Dock. Everytime I tried I got it in the dock. I passed my skills and road test to get my CDL license at TDI Milton Florida . It is a smaller school. Attention to details. One size doesn't fit all. We all learn differently and need closer attention. Thank you Sanford TDI for realizing this. A special thanks to your director who gave us this opportunity. To Milton TDI...Thank you for embracing us with open arms. Your range instructors are absolutely incredible.
