It really helped me understand where my daughter’s driving skills were at and how much I could expect or trust her (and challenge myself). The advice was great, calmly given, and very supportive. She was never stressed, and progressed rapidly. Steve prepared us both for the drive test, with examples of testing sheets and routes, which made it much less stressful for her when she took her test. She passed with few errors, and said it was just like she expected. Very very happy with this service!

My other student is making great progress. Also, Bill's school is really great administratively. Booking lessons is easy. The front office staff are helpful. The cars used for lessons are in great condition.

Experiencia fantástica: I used Bills defensive driving about 10 years ago. My instructor was Paul. He was very nice and calm. I wanted my drivers license but no one would teach me so I had to go through a driving school. The only thing I would say that was a con was Paul mixed up my driving time and thought it was a little later. I called and the rep told me that never happened before and he will see what's going on. It was resolved and I was happy. I also used the car to take my driver test which was great. I'm glad I went through them.

My two older children also passed the driving test on their first try. Your knowledge and practice driving lessons helped all my children. Highly recommend this driving school and do the three, 2 hour lessons.

Was lovely to talk to and a great conversationalist. Only negative experience was due to a scheduling error and a very rude gentleman on the phone who was snarky and unhelpful.

Experiencia fantástica: I had very great experience with this driving school. First of all, their customer service person CALVIN was amazing in assisting me with getting my appointment. He even helped me get a better behind-the-wheel appointment schedule with DMV! And then my awesome instructor STEVE - I'm so grateful for his tremendous patience and very detailed way of teaching. His passion for what he does was evident during our classes - it's beyond just giving you what you need to learn, but he made sure I understood what is safe and unsafe, and he will make you really comfortable and confident right in the beginning. He was very professional, always on time and very encouraging. The training I received was very thorough, and he showed me actual situations on the road and made sure I understood what to do in those scenarios. I've conquered my fears due to my driving restrictions in the past (health reasons - vertigo). I came very prepared for my test day and so I passed! He gave me so much confidence especially when he took me to the freeway! I was very comfortable during all our class sessions. He's very considerate, too! Experiencia fantástica: i am learning how to drive for the first time in my 40's, on the other side of the road, in a busy city. if i hadn't found Bill's Defensive Driving School - i probably would have given up by now, after experiencing some mediocre, stressful teachers over the last 2 years. The instructor here, is generous and encouraging, collecting me from my home and sharing his many years of driving expertise. I am able to absorb a tremendous amount of information during our lessons, not because i am amazing, but due to his expansive teaching ability to assess my needs and help me get the most out of the time. i am becoming a good, new driver and i feel confident under his guidance, and safe in the car learning skills and having great conversations about the psychology of the roads and other drivers. i am so lucky to have found this school - its worth every cent.

Experiencia fantástica: Last year we hired Bills team for lessons for our daughter. It was the best and most appropriate use of our time and money. Bill works our area and picked her up on time and taught her the basics behind the wheel. Things that we as parents didn't or couldn't teach. Fast forward a year and during this pandemic, we hired Bills teams to teach our son the same lessons. Bills knowledge of traffic laws and vehicle maintenance as well as public safety is top priority and I will suggest his team to any one needing lessons. Worth your time and money.

Experiencia negativa: I had a terrible experience with Bill. For the entire two-hour lesson, he had his feet on the brake/gas pedals on his side and his hand on the wheel, effectively driving for me. This gave me no sense of how my actions were affecting the car as he would, for example, tell me to brake while already pressing the brake himself. In addition, he was constantly grabbing my hands and moving them which was incredibly distracting and inappropriate. It was a very unpleasant lesson and I feel as though I learned nothing.

I signed my son up for 3 lessons, and even though he only wound up taking one lesson, they were very thorough in following up about the remaining lessons. Excellent customer service! For the lesson he did take, he had Bill as an instructor, and we found him to be calm, thorough, and instructive! I did a lot of research to find the best local driving school and I'm pretty sure this place is it. Highly recommend!

The office staff always answers the phone, and they provide clear instructions and information about each step in the process of obtaining a driver's license. The online course in thorough, my teenage son passed his learner's permit exam on the first attempt. His driving instructor, Paul, gives clear instructions, in a patient calm manner. My son is now enjoying learning how to be a good driver, and I'm learning a lot about how to be a better teacher to him as I ride along. For my son's 17th birthday, I gave him the gift of Bill's Defensive Driving School course, and it 's been worth it as the experience of learning to drive is so important. It's been the gift that keeps on giving.

Though I'm an experienced driver (over 50 years) I found the DMV driver's test challenging for its rigorous emphasis on driving details one often takes for granted. My instructor, Paul, patiently pointed out crucial demands the test makes on even an experienced driver, one of which caused me to fail my first test. My 17 year old daughter needed to do her 6 hrs of professional behind the wheel instruction and I chose this company because they allow a parent to ride in back during the lessons so we can see what and how our child is being taught so we can continue on the same path while we are practicing with our child later. Steve was our instructor and he was very calm, friendly and thorough. He explained as he went and gave her the chance to drive city streets, freeways, both in good weather and rain. The best part is by driving with them I became less stressed about taking her out driving just the two of is which keeps her calm while she is practicing driving. I would recommend Bill's to ever parent teaching their teenager to drive.

Experiencia negativa: Unfortunately, our experience was not very good. Despite the fact my wife is a foreign adult, with absolutely no prior driving experience or working knowledge of basic motor vehicle controls, our instructor Bill (owner of the company) breezed through a very rushed presentation of the seat and mirror adjustments. After a short orientation of the lights, steering wheel and pedals, he insisted we "hit the streets" quickly. My wife was visibly nervous and confused, which he seemed to disregard, leading us onto one of the busiest roads in our area. He ended up doing most of the driving, reaching over to control the wheel and using his brakes and accelerator, more than she was able to do, since he never took the time to let her get comfortable with things. Although I will commend Bill for his thorough knowledge of traffic laws and nuances of defensive driving, he needs to work on his communication skills. He spent too much time joking around, telling stories and poking fun at my wife's nervousness, rather than taking time to realize she would benefit from a slower, more deliberate orientation and introduction to using the pedals and steering wheel. As another reviewer also commented, Bill spent too much time pulling over to talk. Rather than keep things very simple and focused, he seemed as much or more interested in relaying his perspectives to me, in order to ensure I would carry on with his job of instructing her, at times in between lessons. I did learn quite a bit, to his credit. Yet, the person he should have been more focused on was my wife, who felt she did not get much out of the lesson. Additionally, he was not dressed professionally, in my opinion, wearing a sweat suit rather than slacks or jeans and a shirt. Finally, his office staff was not particularly helpful or impressive, as they bungled the appointment time and location, leaving us waiting for almost an hour after our scheduled time and not letting us know until we called them to ask the reason the instructor was late. We have since begun lessons with another company, who sent a very patient, professional instructor, who has succeeded in taking my wife from being a nervous wreck to an eager student. Bill and his group may be good with many others, just not us.
