Experiencia fantástica: I have to say this no one's entitled to gaining without working for it this school never once made me feel it was bias you come to learn to be a student and understand these people were once at that same point as you're coming to learn their are different personalities and different perspectives on how things are done or should be carried or executed but one thing is the same and that is to get you to become a safety first truck driver be a student first and these instructors will help you to succeed be respectful be responsible take accountability be a professional be a student first as they're teaching adults not children understand success is driven not giving. All I can say some of the best teachers I've ever met school wise is here pay attention and engage. They also taught me don't be afraid to ask questions RDS will get you there Although you or them can't control unfortunate mishaps you have control of your ambition if this is truly what you want you'll get your fair chance here thank you RDS and every instructor that has been here during my time spent I truly appreciated and feel like im more than ready to take on my careers as a trucker! Experiencia fantástica: This school was the best money I ever spent! It open so many new doors for me and new carrier opportunities. The instructors were more than helpful and helped you and motivated you in the right direction. You will definitely get out of it as much as you put in to it.

Experiencia negativa: This review is difficult to write because there are definitely some very good things at Roadmaster which are unfortunately overshadowed by the bad things. I’ll start with the good. You will learn the skills that you need to be able to get your CDL permit, and to be able to pass your CDL test. None of the instructors are looking for ways to catch you out, they are all invested in making every student successful. This starts in the classroom (week 1), continues in pre-trip (week 2) and continues week 3 and beyond on the backing pad and out on the road. Each instructor has their own way of teaching. You’ll more naturally align with some more than others, depending on how you like to learn. Take what you need from each of them, pay attention, ask questions, and you’ll get what you need. However, the good is overshadowed by organizational incompetence by the leadership at the school, and fueled by financial greed at a corporate level. The single most important question you can ask….how long has the oldest class been in school? You will be sold on this class taking five weeks. Once you arrive, and your check is cashed, you’ll find out that you’ve been lied to. I was told this was a five week class when I met with the admissions officer four days before my class started. It was also reiterated during the first day of class, and in my end of week summary emails. It took over nine weeks for me to graduate and get my CDL. If you manage to squeeze the truth from Roadmaster, they’ll tell you that they’re short on instructors, the state is behind giving new instructors their teaching credentials, and that North Carolina has more learning requirements than other states. None of these things are new. In fact, Roadmaster has helped to create this problem by transferring instructors to other schools when there were no backfills in place. Despite knowing (and not telling students) that they are behind, Roadmaster continues to bring in a new class every week. And every week new students are being told that it’s a five week program. Because of class sizes and the lack of instructors, once I made it to the training pad - where you have to stand, rain or shine, for 9+ hours EVERY day, I was in the truck once in the morning and once in the afternoon. At most that’s 30 minutes of driving in a 9.5 hour day. On numerous occasions I asked when I would be finished with school. The school manager wasn’t able to provide any helpful guidance. After 5(?) weeks, my classmates and I arrived back to school on Monday and we told on Monday afternoon we were going to be excused for the week. The next week, the same thing. This location is 50 miles from where I live and the fact that the school manager didn’t have the foresight to call students ahead of time to excuse them demonstrates his incompetence, and the lack of respect he has for the students. Roadmaster has offered nothing in terms of refunds, meaningful gestures of goodwill, or in fact anything of substance to recognize the inconvenience they are causing and that they’re taking advantage of people. You will be told that you’re in a professional working environment. Some examples of how hypocritical this statement is: Someone put some paper into a single urinal in the men’s bathroom. The action taken was to close the bathroom for the entire day and all the men had to use a porta john outside. There are four roll calls every day. If a student is tardy, the first reaction from the school is to write them up. But the school is late starting roll call EVERY DAY. One of the instructors repeatedly fell asleep while observing students drive and, worse, when he was driving students. I’m sure that I’ll receive the same canned response to this review that others have with theirs. But the truth is, they were aware of the situation. I have communicated with the president of the company, and spoken to their customer care team on several occasions - as did many other students. Best advice - look elsewhere unless they can demonstrate to you that you’ll be in and out in five weeks.

Experiencia negativa: The school is ran like a correctional facility. The school manager Steele is more concerned about locking the males restroom. The rules do not apply to everyone across the board as if you’re late and do not show up. Students can sign for other students if you’re going to the DMV, though they’ll tell you you’ll be kicked out if you do. You’ll be threaten multiple times to be kicked out. Even though I was there past my graduation day I didn’t even get an apology or explanation besides we are trying our hardest. I saw more demo and introductions of other class that was there after mine. I was in the truck doing backup maneuvers twice for 10 minutes in an eight hour day. We stood around or sat around for the remainder of the day. Steele finds joy threatening people, anything that went wrong he would say “this will and could have you kicked out”. Another instructor wrote on the whiteboard and he approached everyone and said “who wrote on the board, because whoever did will get kicked out” I was left shocked on who would write on the office board. As a student asked what was written his reply was it didn’t matter. The student said it does matter because if it reads these students need to drive then it was Shockey but if it says anything else then I don’t know. Steele’s said I’ll ask him, didn’t apologized to us. He’s definitely not a people person. Now let’s talk about your instructors. Joe: Plan and Process if you do not follow them the results are not good, he’ll throw rocks at the trailer and he’ll throw the radio in the area of where your at. He will tell you to find someone if you do not like the way he teaches and he’ll talk about other instructors in a negative way. Cylais: He’s method of teaching is allowing you to be comfortable with understanding in what situations you’re in. He’ll go above and beyond to explain it in different ways. He believes in you and he wants the best for you. Greene: He wants you to learn to fix your mistakes, for the offset he had me saying Lionel Richie Sings Romance Love Songs which I was able to remember L R Straight R L Straight. His method of teaching PTI is very easy and he explains it well. Eva: she does mostly the night drive and educates you on driving in the mountains, she's very helpful and she'll answer anything you ask of her. Shockey: made sure I felt comfortable and understood the assignment at hand. He’s very helpful and knowledgeable. Kelsi: DONT TRUST HER, she’s not there to help. When I asked for assistance in finding a job she said “I’ll be asked too many questions from the company because you asked for a waiver” even though I was told I could had changed my mind was what I was told. She has a poor attitude and she’ll rolling her eyes as she speaks to people on the phone. She’s very RUDE. Kim: she’ll remind you how bad the other Roadmasters are doing across the nation. I would not recommend.

Experiencia negativa: First I would like to say if you are considering enrolling at Roadmaster Driver's School in Dunn N.C. you will be in for a treat. You will definitely need a strong support system both at home and out there at the school because the instructors out there will NOT give you any inch of compassion, encouragement, or motivation if you are struggling. I'm not ashamed to say that I was one of those that struggled throughout my time out there and the only thing that helped me make it through was by the grace of God and a fellow classmate whom was an excellent support system to help pick me up and to raise my confidence. The instructors out there at the time, Joe and Cylais were knowledgeable but was quick to talk down on you if you constantly struggled. Joe is a man in his mid 50's whom acts like a spoiled toddler whenever a student isn't performing to his standards. He reacts in a unprofessional manner by throwing temper tantrums and throwing around cones on the training pad. Cylais is a man in his mid 50's who acts immature for his age and isn't any better than Joe in my opinion. He is quick to belittle students and doesn't show any remorse. I admit that they were short staffed but that doesn't excuse that type of behavior. Now as far as the school itself it is flawed. The school manager tries his best to run it like a correctional facility with all those strict policies and rules. It's sad that I was there for a total of 9 weeks even though they stated it would be only 5 weeks. The day I passed my CDL test I spoke with a member of faculty and asked her will any part of the tuition for the school loan be readjusted being that I've been there past 5 weeks and she told me no. Roadmaster in Dunn NC doesn't care anything about the welfare of their students financially. Many students including myself complained about financial hardships which effected us during those extra weeks without being paid. There are two driving instructors there that was pretty Kool, Mrs. Eva Cook and Mr. Jeffrey Shockey. They are the only two instructors out there who actually showed some type compassion for students. So I end this to say to this, " PROCEED WITH CAUTION" when considering Roadmaster Driver's School in Dunn NC as a option for obtaining your CDL training.

The staff in office was very helpful and would answer any questions you had. Which is very important when making a career change. The only down fall was no Manuel trucks but I understand the industry is switching to all automatic. But overall 10/10. I recommend Roadmaster in Dunn to anyone who is looking to get there CDL.

Experiencia negativa: this school is a lie too many companies won't hire you bc you graduated from roadmaster they all required minimum of 4 months I have companies that said you batter off with a community college license and they are some rude instructors and prison policies the worst experience ever Silas the so called supervisor think it is okay to yell at students. He came out his mouth and said we are babies of Truck Driving. He wants things done his way and if it doesn't go his way he try and make you feel stupid. The only good thing about the school is some of the instructors who do care which are Ms Eva, Mr Joe, Mr Chuck, Fred, & Mr Rob Greene. The instructors were extremely knowledgeable and ensured we had all the information needed to safely and professionally operate a commercial vehicle. Not only are they professionals, but each one operated a CMV in the past and were able to translate that knowledge to assist us with gaining the skills needed. Mrs. Patty is an amazing manager. She is tough and no nonsense, but fair. She ensures you are properly prepared to complete the state requirements.

Based on my experience with the trainers, I would most definitely refer other candidates here. I will say when I got ready to test with one of the DMV Examiner's, Donald he was not very pleasant and gave me a very hard time testing out. I don't think this profession is really for him. He's the only reason I didn't give 5 stars on this reviewThe other DMV Examiner, Shockey that I had the pleasure to train with was fun, knowledgeable, professional and a great teacher. I learned a lot from him. Outside of that, with all my knowledge and skills I learned from the awesome trainers and God, I passed❤️ I would recommend, getting your Class A CDL Permit before signing up so your time is not wasted at DMV and you can get on to your pretrip and skills after the first week of classroom. GO FOR IT AND TELL THEM I SENT YOU (CINDY HICKS) By The Way, That's Mr. Fred In The Picture with me. He is an Awesome Pretrip Instructor and Was Lots Of Fun On Night Drives. Experiencia positiva: My experience was great at Roadmaster because they have instructors who really do care about you succeeding. I will miss Cj, Joe, Fred, Dan, and Chuck, and Steele. They all have their own learning style, you might come as having no clue how to drive a semi trailer, but you will leave with the experience you will probably keep for a lifetime.

Experiencia negativa: This was my fourth week and I got kicked out because shady Patty wanted to come up with a rule of no cell phones and my son is in bootcamp and I refuse to miss his phone call. Silas the so called supervisor think it is okay to yell at students. He came out his mouth and said we are babies of Truck Driving. Amelio is a terrible instructor. He wants things done his way and if it doesn't go his way he try and make you feel stupid. The only good thing about the school is some of the instructors who do care which are Ms Eva, Mr Joe, Mr Chuck, Fred, & Mr Rob Greene. You are paying all this money and you do not get lunch and dinner. They do provide breakfast at hotel which is okay if you eat pork. I'm nice and genuine and they took away my nicest. I would suggest go to another truck driving school.

I knew nothing about tractor trailers prior to going there, and I graduated. For me it took a great deal of sacrifice and hard work to learn a lot of information in a short period of time. But my persistence paid off and I felt very much supported by the school. It was all worth it in the end. They also do job/company placement!

Experiencia negativa: This school appears to be 1 way but once you're in it's totally different. There are way to many students per Instructor. The student isn't properly taught when it comes to backing the trailer. If you would like to attend Roadmasters please do your research. If you can find a better school for less than 6995 please do so. Don't get me wrong you will learn academics no problem. However actual backing and driving is not so great. The recruiting officers draw you in with all types of hype but once in you will have some regret. Also if possible get your cdl permit before attending it will make the academics portion easier. I had my permit going in and boy was I glad I did. PLEASE PLEASE PLEASE do your research and follow your instincts. Best wishes ❤

Experiencia negativa: Typical response. Maybe because people have multiple emails. Why don't you reply to the BBB complaints? Oh because your school isn't certified by the BBB. How about the CFPB? Nope! Not registered there either. Work on becoming a legitimate company instead of answering complaints on Google. Anyone that wants to know, Roadmaster IS Werner enterprises. Don't use their financing no matter how easy they make it sound. Get your own financing or go to a better school that doesn't rush you through their program and doesn't have interest in creating a driver mill with their parent company Werner enterprises.

Experiencia negativa: I failed my test at the dmv, and the dmv told me to come back the next day. I wasn’t fully aware I had to sit in class the next 3 days due to me failing, so I went to the dmv the next day got my permit. When I got back to the school I was dropped from the program. Something so minuscule caused me to be dropped from the program. The sacrifices made just to come there wasn’t even considered. Ms. Patty is very rude makes students feel uncomfortable and has tendency of “power tripping”. Paul, is also very rude so, I would advise people to not let this school be an option for obtaining cdl. This wasn’t a good experience for me at all.
