Positive experience: I would give 5 STARS for the driving instructors!! Absolutely amazing instructors!! However, the office, the gentleman that handles the appointments and calls is incredibly rude. He also is very difficult to understand when he speaks and makes no effort to speaking more clearly and is always rushing whatever he is saying, making communication difficult. I called in the evening to see if there was an opening the following day to add in a lesson for more practice. I got a slot for 12pm. The next day in the morning I had a doctor’s appointment that I waited 3 months for and was a post op appointment. It looked like the appointment would be running late, so I wanted to call the driving school to let them know I’d have to reschedule. The business hours said they open at 10am so I called around 9:50am to see if anyone was available and let them know the situation. The gentleman who usually answers picked up and I explained what was happening and he got very upset and rude and started raising his voice at me. Said I was unprofessional even though my previous appointment with them, they were about an hour and a half late and did not even inform me that they would be late until 7 mins before the appointment. But it was ok because things come up and it’s not a big deal even though it hindered my schedule. I think that’s more unprofessional than someone letting you know hours ahead that they’ll have to reschedule because of a medical check up running late, as I explained that I do apologize but a medical appointment that I waited 3 months for to check how I was healing after a surgery would be imperative and cannot be missed.

Fantastic experience: Before this driving school I worked with another school. During my first experience, with the other driving school they were able to teach me to drive but they weren’t as detailed as St Amin Driving School to prepare me for the upcoming road test. I did my first road test with Celina, but wasn’t able to pass. Despite not passing my first try, Celina was able to help me be more detailed with what the examiners was looking. Before my second try at Newark I did a driving lesson with Lenny and he made me realize that I was ready for the road test and that I had to believe in my own driving ability. When the road test came I worked with Kathy. Despite the pressure I felt from her she means really well. She really taught me what to expect during the road test and was able to give me tips when it comes to Parallel Parking, K-Turn, Driving in Reverse and how to handle the steering wheel. I am very grateful for St Amin Driving School for teaching me how to drive, giving me confidence, and preparing me for the road test. Definitely if anyone needs a driving school to go to in preparation for the road test, I definitely recommend St Amin Driving School :)

Fantastic experience: i passed my road test on the first try thanks to Victor! i stuck with him as my instructor for all my lessons + road test and i learned a lot. Victor was patient and explained everything very easily. he was swift to point out what i did wrong at times and made sure i understood how to correct my parking. definitely recommend him to any beginner or experienced driver as well!

Negative experience: Short summary: do not waste your time and book a class in another place. Also, you can book driving test next to the DMV for $80 instead of $170 that they charge you. Long story: I have booked 2 advance appointments with Amin driving school, one for practice and one for the road test since I have driven before in another country. My instructor Celina arrived 30 minutes late for the practice lesson, but I must admit the lesson was informative and if not my road test experience likely you won't even see this comment. On the day of the road test Celina called 15 minutes before the scheduled pick-up time and suggested that she will be late for 45(!) minutes. I patiently waited for 40 minutes and then figured over the messages that she is stuck in traffic about 30 minutes away from me. It was hard to believe that she would make it, so I offered her to meet at Newark Penn station. I got ready and ran up to Journal Square to take a PATH train to Newark (where the exam took place). Shortly I called her from Newark train station to pick me up and go to the DMV, she said she needs another 20 minutes (!). At that time I had only 50 minutes to make it to my appointment on time, believe it or not I walked all the way from the train station to the DMV under 100F boiling heat just to make sure I made it. Half way through the walk Celina texted me and said that her car is broken (what a surprise), but someone from school is on their way to take over. Well, I got to the DMV, called Kathy (new instructor) and she was still 10 minutes away and considered charging me (attention) $150!? I walked to a first driving school instructor that was near DMV and was offered a car for $80 and an extra 15 mins of practice for $20. $100 total and the test was passed. I'm giving 2 stars because of the decent 1st lesson. Besides that timing and communication are lacking considering that this is actually a commercial business that claims to be good. Please be careful with all the positive reviews.

Fantastic experience: Celina helped me passed, she was very kind and patient with me no matter how nervous I was during practiced. Her advice really helped me out during the test with taking your time with parallel parking and always looking at your mirrors fixing yourself and always have your signals on, checking your blindspots, and going to the center with your left turns.

Fantastic experience: Amin's Driving School helped me greatly in preparation leading up to my driver's test. Under the school, I was able to practice with Lenny, Mr. Jose, Raul, and Victor. All of them made me feel comfortable while out on the road and they have all introduced me to their own useful tips and techniques for driving, parallel parking, k-turns (3 point turning), and reverse driving. Applying what these instructors taught me, the knowledge helped me pass my road test in Rahway, NJ on March 5th on the first attempt. Being able to pass on my birthday was a great gift. After practicing my driving with Leny, he took me to Rahway on the day of my road test. If you have a particular instructor that you have in mind and are comfortable practicing with them, you can always call the school and request that specific instructor for practice and the day of the test depending on the specific instructor's availability. Fantastic experience: I successfully passed my road test on the first attempt after taking lessons with Raul! Being a new driver, Raul’s guidance was invaluable from the very beginning. I felt confident about passing the test in 2 lessons but I took for a few more to refine my driving skills. Raul rightly points out to areas for improvement and guides really well. His techniques for Parallel parking, K turn and street driving, were the key to me passing the test. If you're in the process of learning to drive, I highly recommend taking lessons with Raul! 10/10 Recommendation.

Another important thing was that any question I asked, Victor was able to answer and in a very detailed manner which made everything much better! Today I took my road test and he took me to the testing site to show me each step. It was so helpful and I passed!! Thank you to the school and most importantly to Victor!!! Make sure to ask for Victor when you take classes here!! His way of teaching is very good!! You will not regret it!! Thank you once again!! ❤️

Fantastic experience: I took 2 lessons with Victor, then took my road test. Passed first time. Honestly happy with the results. Victor was patient and friendly. Gave me a lot of good tips when taking the test. I don’t know if I would’ve passed without them. Highly recommend.
